Our 1960s day was made even more special as it was also Alan’s birthday! 🎂🎉 He was treated to a beautiful cake made by our wonderful chef Julie, and everyone gathered together to sing Happy Birthday. It couldn’t have been more fitting, as Alan absolutely adores 60s music! 🎶✨ Happy Birthday Alan! 🥳

Yesterday, Allt Y Mynydd Nursing Home stepped back in time to the swinging 1960s! 🪩🕺 There was plenty of love, laughter and fantastic memories shared as we enjoyed the music and vibes of the era.

To round off our 60s day, our residents enjoyed a themed session with The Joyful Life Guide. Everyone sang along to some classics, including “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” by The Beatles and “My Favourite Things” from The Sound of Music, sung by the fabulous Julie Andrews. 🎶🎤

For our 60s celebration, residents and staff also enjoyed having their faces and hands painted by Charlotte. The colourful designs truly took everyone back in time, with some residents sharing fond memories of going shopping with flowers painted on their faces! 🌸

We were delighted to welcome the lovely children from Cwtch Childcare for a recent visit, where residents, staff and little ones all came together for some Easter crafts. 🐣🌸 There was plenty of creativity, colour and laughter as everyone got involved making beautiful Easter-themed creations. It was wonderful to see the generations sharing stories, smiles and special moments. 💛 Thank you to the children and team at Cwtch Childcare for such a heartwarming visit – we’re already looking forward to the next one!

We enjoyed a wonderful wedding reminiscence session this week. 💍✨ Natasha brought in a beautiful bridesmaid dress that her one-year-old daughter wore to her brother’s wedding, and Charlotte shared her wedding album from her special day at Chester Zoo – the animal photos were a real talking point! One of our lovely residents also brought in a photograph from her wedding day 58 years ago, which sparked so many heartwarming memories. It was such a special session, filled with stories, smiles and treasured moments from years gone by. 💕

What a truly special day celebrating David’s 100th birthday yesterday! 🎉🎂 The children from Ysgol Gynradd Llanybydder kindly made David some beautiful birthday cards and even sent a photo of the whole school to wish him a very happy birthday – such a thoughtful gesture 💌 We also sang Happy Birthday together with Cwtch Childcare, making the celebration even more memorable. David and his family then enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea to mark this incredible milestone. A day full of joy, community spirit and very special memories! 💛 Happy Birthday David!

Our residents had a wonderful time yesterday celebrating with a delicious pancake tasting session! 🥞 There were plenty of tempting toppings to choose from – raspberry and chocolate spread, banana with toffee sauce, and of course the classic lemon and sugar. 🫐🍫🍌🍯🍋 After much careful sampling (purely for research purposes, of course!), the clear favourite was lemon and sugar! ✨
