Recap on Beach Week at Allt Y Mynydd 🌊 Residents had a fantastic time feeling the sand, dipping into the water, building sandcastles, and finishing the day with classic fish & chips wrapped in newspaper, followed by ice cream sundaes. A perfect end to summer! 🐚🍦

Last week we said a heartfelt goodbye to Heidi, one of our wonderful Chefs, and Sarah, one of our Wellbeing Coordinators. Both have been such valued members of our team, and their hard work, kindness, and commitment will be truly missed. 💐

Celebrating our wonderful housekeeping team at Allt Y Mynydd during National Housekeeping Week! A huge shout-out to our amazing housekeeping team—Agnes, Ola, Ruth, Dorota, and Cecilia. Over the past few months, they’ve worked incredibly hard, tackling every challenge with determination and care. Your dedication and commitment never go unnoticed—thank you for everything you do to keep our home running smoothly. You’re truly appreciated!

🚗✨ On Sunday 31st August, we were delighted to welcome a Morris Minor Club to our home! This special visit granted Alan’s wish from our Wishing Tree – to see a Morris Traveller. The group went above and beyond, giving Alan the chance to sit in both a Traveller and a Morris 1000.

Alan was especially thrilled to see Paddy (or as he fondly calls him, “Moggy”) standing proudly in front of a Moggy! He even shared his model Traveller with the group, who were overjoyed to see it. 💙

A heartfelt thank you to the club for making Alan’s wish come true in such a wonderful way!

🏆✨ We are so proud to share that Allt Y Mynydd Nursing Home has been awarded Care Home of the Month for August by Famileo ! 💌💖

For those who don’t know, Famileo is a wonderful initiative that helps keep families and residents connected. Families can send in photos, messages and updates online, which are then turned into a personalised printed gazette for each resident. This simple idea brings so much joy, comfort and a true sense of belonging – especially for residents living with dementia or reduced mobility.

A big well done to Charlotte, our Wellbeing Coordinator, who has worked so hard to make sure every resident enjoys the full benefit of Famileo. In just three months, Charlotte has helped 70% of families get involved and sends over 100 updates every month to keep loved ones connected. 🌟👏

We couldn’t be prouder of the team at Allt Y Mynydd for their dedication to care, comfort and family connection. 🏡❤️

Our residents enjoyed a crafty session making button trees, inspired by the fruit on the trees outside. 🍎🍐

It was a wonderful way to bring a touch of nature indoors, spark creativity and create beautiful keepsakes to brighten up our home! 💛

We were delighted to welcome Alexander Holloway, the Joyful Life Guide, to Allt Y Mynydd! 💛 Our residents really enjoyed his visit, especially the summer-themed playlist he created just for our Beach Week. 🏖️

It was wonderful to see everyone smiling, singing along and soaking up the summer vibes together! 🌟 Thank you Alex for such a joyful day!
