I am utterly exhausted; physically, mentally and spiritually. I have been trying to keep too many of those metaphorical plates spinning and have ended up being burned out. I'm going to step away from social media, and various areas of my work, for a while to focus on my own health.

I will come back later in the year, when I have the capacity to support others as well as myself, to pick up where I left off and continue expanding my offerings as a birth doula.

It is such an honour it is to be part of such an incredibly community πŸ‘ what Rhys and Katie have created is one of a kind. When surrounded by such strong and determined people, it's hard not to be constantly inspired!

This weekend was a great example of why the CS community is so special. Early on Saturday morning over 150 CS members, wearing odd socks, set off from Cardigan to walk various distances of the Ceredigion Coast path. A handful of them walked the whole 100k in under 24h!! And it was all to raise money for the Down's Syndrome Association.... and they've raised over Β£10,000 so far!

As much as I would have loved to walk the whole thing, it wasn't meant to be for me this year. So, my 5 year old and I, baked 3kg of brownies and walked a 4km route (with her dad and 1 year old sister too) to give them out to anyone we passed taking part in Harri's Hike!

You can still donate, following the link which I will add to my story highlights β˜€οΈ

β˜• This is your reminder to do something for you! πŸͺ

Nurturing little people is a never ending role. It's easy to fill the evenings with laundry, dishes, emails etc. All of that stuff *is* important but it's just as important to carve out time for things that you enjoy too, or even some self care. After all, you can't pour from an empty cup!

This evening I ignored the piles of laundry waiting to be folded, and dyed my hair (goodbye fluro pink), drank tea, ate far too many biscuits and had a go at using a speedweave to fix one of E's many ripped cardigans! I feel so much better for having some me time and know that, tomorrow, I will be a much better Mum because of it!

πŸ₯œ Sweet Potato, Kale and Peanut Curry πŸ₯¬

A variation of this hearty curry was brought to us by our wonderful Doula, , during one of her postpartum visits and it has been a favourite for our family ever since.

It's quick and easy to make, delicious to eat, and packed with nutrients that are beneficial to postpartum healing and milk supply. It also freezes well, which makes it a great meal to batch cook in the final weeks of pregnancy to store for quick and easy meals in the weeks after burth.

I loosely followed a recipe for sweet potato, spinach and peanut curry from BBC Good Food but used crunchy PB instead of smooth, and kale instead of spinach as we had harvested a load from our garden this week. I will link the original recipe in my story highlights.
