Some good advice: get out of your head and get outside… 🍃 our minds can sometimes resemble a washing machine with family, friends, work & life in general! We can get firmly stuck inside our own heads all too often. Sometimes we think ‘if I think about this more, I’ll figure it out!’ This is quite often a trap. Sometimes the best thing we can do is rather than think, just be. Remember you can always think about it later, it’s not that we need to neglect thought forever; that would be counterproductive. However, it can be more productive to allow ourselves even just 5 minutes to stop and just be, take note of all that is around us. This is how we step out of our head and into the present moment, this is how we become more aware of life that can pass us by if we don’t pay attention ❤️

On Tuesday night we run a FREE mindfulness class via zoom for anyone in Scotland age 16+ 😃 why not come along for some relaxation and to improve your well-being?

The class is on for 1 hour and we kick off with some relaxation mindfulness, then have a bit of a chat - each week we have a question to focus on for the week and then the following week we chat about it (tomorrow we will be discussing things we have been grateful for this week🥰) and then we end the session with another mindfulness meditation 😌

If you’ve never been before, we are a friendly group & there’s no pressure to have your mic or camera on if you just want to listen in or even use the chat to type questions or thoughts!

Hopefully see you online tomorrow night 🤩 any questions, please drop me a message or use the login details in the poster to join the zoom meeting (no need to book)!

Mindful moments today on my lunch break 🌳🍃

Let’s play the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 game…
5 things you can SEE, 4 things you can HEAR, 3 things you can FEEL (physically), 2 things you can SMELL, 1 thing you can TASTE!📝

👀 - tree, circle, green, brown, nature
👂 - birds singing, wind whooshing, branches breaking under my feet, footsteps
✋ - cold wind, the soft texture of my fleece, my shoes connected to the solid ground
👃 - fresh air, nature
👄 - nothing!

5 4 3 2 1 is a great mindfulness technique to ground yourself in the present moment, becoming fully aware of what’s going on around you right now 💭
It’s a quick and effective way to break you out of your thoughts and into reality for a moment! This is great to practice when you feel overwhelmed, but also a good daily practice in order to prevent further stress/overwhelm.
Why not give it a try where you are just now! 😃

🌬️ Deep breathing is a powerful, mindful and body-focused technique to use in difficult situations such as when you're anxious, triggered or upset to release stagnant breath and energy and take the edge of your nervous system

Mini practice 🍃:

1. Breathe in for 4 seconds.
2. Breathe out for 6 seconds.
3. Feel your breath reach your diaphram.
4. Repeat until you feel calmer. Cool breaths in and warm breaths out.
