This has to change, birthing parents deserve to be treated with the same respect as every other hospital patient.

Pregnancy is not a disease, and birth is not a medical procedure. While some parents may need medical care throughout one or both of them, everything that is done requires consent and should be advised respectfully.

Selfish, opinionated, controlling and difficult: women can often be to be treated like wayward children when they try to create this grown-up document.
