Important Patient Update: Winter Pressures

As we move into the winter months, we are experiencing a significant increase in demand for appointments and prescription requests.

From Monday 27 October, AskMyGP has been open from 8:00am to 10:00am each weekday. We are currently receiving up to 200 requests per day — including telephone consultations, face-to-face appointments, medication reviews, repeat prescriptions, and practice nurse appointments.

We aim to deal with most requests on the same day. However, if your request is routine, you will hear from us within 3–5 working days.

How You Can Help Us

To help us continue providing safe and timely care for all our patients during this busy period, we kindly ask for your support with the following:

Repeat Prescriptions

Our team currently processes 350–400 prescriptions per day, with a usual turnaround time of around 3 working days.

Due to increased winter demand, we now ask patients to please allow 3–5 working days for repeat prescriptions to be processed.


Plan Ahead

Please request your medication in good time — don’t wait until you’ve run out.
Planning ahead helps ensure you receive your medicines on time and reduces additional pressure on local pharmacies, who are also facing increased winter workloads.

We appreciate your understanding, patience, and cooperation as we work hard to meet the needs of all our patients during this busy season.
