After two weeks of recovery from surgery I had cabin fever and had to get out of the home!
As both witch and historian I love nothing more than to find hidden magical or strange gems on my travels. From ancient sites of devotion to the absolute macabre--- no matter the season. To me it's Summerween!

Big thank you to and their "Occult Britain" book for this recommendation. We ventured to the infamous Hellfire Caves known for its elite secret club of sex-magic, debauchery, ceremonies, hauntings and even association with satanism, according to the book by local historian Evelyn Lord. This place is now part of British folklore, which I love. The more I learn about my home country, the more intriguing it becomes.

A lovely day trip with this beauty.
A friendship where we don't often get to see each other but when we do, it's like we were talking just yesterday.
Sarah has just completed her Pregnancy Yoga teacher training and I'm so proud of her attaining her new specialism, you can find her Sarah Steed Yoga

We ventured to the Ancient India exhibition at the British Museum, I really wanted to go as part of my research for a potential second manuscript and Sarah has visited India, through yoga we both have an appreciation and passion for this culture, then we had lunch at the lovely Hare Krishna vegetarian restaurant, then onwards to Treadwells Occult bookshop (where my book may be stocked 🤞🏻🙏🏻) and chatted about the complexities of life til 2am. Before she caught her train back home, we enjoyed a bit of shopping to buy botanical oils as we both love anything to do with Ayurveda and Herbalism and making our own natural products.
Wonderful quality time together.
Quality time with no interruptions, serenity, integrity, ahimsa (non-violence), honesty, meaningful engagement and gentleness is my main love language. How about you?

It's been a while since I wrote for an online platform. I wrote for The C Word Magazine during lockdown and I wanted to get back into it a little more because online platforms are more accessible.
This is a piece I researched about pilgrimages across the UK associated with the divine feminine.
Many historical sites and pilgrimage routes honour the masculine and many popular saints are men. I asked "where is the feminine?"
Pilgrimage routes are all the rage at the moment for the faithful and non-faithful alike. Many nature and history enthusiasts, folklorists and pagans just want to do walking meditations and have pitstops to medieval churches, holy wells and sacred rivers along the way.

Something amazing is happening but I can't quite announce it just yet. It is in its first stage which needs to be completed and then the second stage also needs to be done for me to properly make an announcement because then it's set in stone.
I'm on the edge of my seat with fingers crossed!

First days of June: Gentle excursions after recovery from Operation
Art and history and magic!

✨First few pictures are of Southwark cathedral. Interestingly it used to be called "Mary Overy" as in "Mary over the water". Mudlarking finds have unearthed votive statues to Venus and a Roman god of the hunt. This whole area has been found to once have a temple to Isis. We took part in an upcoming exhibition installation of paper doves, each visitor can write a loving message on their paper dove.

✨ Exhibit at the London Mithras temple by 🌈 artist Jonathan Baldock. His work is inspired by folk art, childhood memories and honouring his mother, including a giant mother goddess statue with lapis eyes!

✨ Exhibit by Korean Parisian artist Soyoung Hyun at titled "An invitation to ritual". Beautiful and intriguing objects involving memory, shadow work and making ritual objects for healing and transformation.

All these places are FREE to visit! I love finding magical, sacred and strange things everywhere I go!
