Talking to our vet this morning who was interested in how Reiki works and what benefits there were for animals

If you want to find out more or have a chat to see how Reiki can help your pet or equine then message me x

"Animals like Reiki at least as much as humans. They understand the Reiki energy. Their awareness spectrum includes energies like Reiki, so they have an innate understanding of it. They live in the awareness of Reiki. The animal Reiki energy also opens an exceptional ability to communicate and be in communion with the animals." -William Rand

How often do I need to have KORE?

How often do I need to have KORE?

How often do you need a treatment?

This a question where the answer may be changing due to how quick your body recovers itself from its ill health.

Ideally initially I want to see you 7-10 after your initial Consultation/treatment so together we can assess what has stayed well and what areas we need to continue to address, using your feedback of how you have felt, your diet, energy, muscle tests and more....

Because I am able to manage my diary effectively I am able to say I want to see you within this time frame and know I have appointments available and ensure this happens, so you are not waiting weeks for an appointment.

Usually individuals require between two and four treatments sometimes more, others then continue to have “upkeep” (maintenance) appointments which are really beneficial and may be any length apart ie: monthly.

Let’s talk periods!

There I said it!!!!

Periods were talked about last week by an MP in the House of Commons and again on Loose Women highlighting the importance of talking about them, our feelings and how we respond as a society.

I have many conversations about menstrual cycles with ladies who come to see me in clinic and we can look at how KORE can help to rebalance the body so that Pre Menstrual symptoms are kept to a minimum.

đź’•I know with having regular KORE my menstrual cycle is not as unwelcome as it was and instead I play to my strengths during the different phases of the cycle. I can also say that my tummy cramps, clots and headaches have gone which feels fab.

If you are aware of how your body’s hormones change during the phases then that can help you plan your diary. I’m not saying give into your periods but sometimes to understand that we feel tired because of a lack of Oestrogen and Progesterone in the first phase (time of bleed) may help you to be kind to yourself when you are sobbing in the corner and lacking motivation.

Day 5-14
is when your energy kicks in.
( I have noticed this myself as I run round doing lots)
Oestrogen levels are on the rise again and your body starts to feel stronger.
Oestrogen increases blood flow to the brain and with this increases Serotnin a happy hormone.

Day 14-22
Lots of Oestrogen and Progesterone in the body which increases your metabolic rate and is a great time for exercise.

Day 23-28
Pre menstrual phase- Oestrogen and Serotonin levels drop leaving you tired. Exercise can help keep you motivated

The above is a little snippet of how our body progresses through the cycle, there is much more that could be written.

When we are able to listen to our body it all makes sense the different phases throughout the cycle and how our energy levels change throughout the month.

It is a natural process and one I believe we shouldn’t have to put up with discomfort and migraines and pain which is where KORE therapy can help to re align your body, to optimise your organs so they are functioning better and then these symptoms are reduced.

Gone are the days of olde wives tales - I hope!! I was told by my grandma not to have a bath when I was on my period! “Why?” I have no idea but couldn’t think of anything worse. Now we are encouraged to carry on as normal because it is normal!

I hope this has helped to see why our bodies behave in different ways during a month and that with alternative therapies we don’t have to suffer.

We lost our self belief………

Our young childhood years are really crucial time for us, where we start to take on other people’s belief systems.

Well meaning adults, parents, teachers, people in authority all play a part in influencing our beliefs

Some of these beliefs will be fabulous and some will stay with the person and show up in their mind in the future, believing they are not good enough, who are you to go for that job, you can’t do that, the list goes on. Perhaps you can remember some of your own experiences and how they now make you feel

I work with many women who struggle with their self belief, they have no confidence in themselves or their ability ( they nay babe been told they are not good enough) no self worth, struggle to make decisions for themselves etc

💫Through coaching these beliefs can be changed so that you can feel full of self belief, learn how to dissolve these beliefs and ways that we’re keeping you small or stuck

♥️During coaching you can connect back into yourself, back to your inner wisdom and be able to make decisions, have boundaries in place and know your values and tge value of you!

🔥Stepping out as who you truly are and showing up free to be who you are with love and kindness for yourself as you deserve

💕No more hiding and living with beliefs that are keeping you small or stuck , it’s your time to shine and embrace who you are.

If this resonates with you then pop me a message, I’d love to chat and let’s start nudging those beliefs…..

With love

❤️

One of the life-long things we learn at school is how important school is.

In fact, we start to learn this before we go to school, when we tell our three and four-year-old children that schools are where learning really starts, and that they’re too old now to play all day.

Many of us learnt that if we didn’t go to school, we would be illiterate, uneducated, wouldn’t have any idea what to do with ourselves – in short, we would waste our lives. We’d fritter our time away, without doing anything serious or challenging. We learnt that our education is all down to our teachers and our school, that without them we would be nothing.

Perhaps we need to believe that, because why else would we have spent so many formative years of our lives sitting in classrooms, and then in turn send our children to do the same? It must be really important, right?

If we allowed ourselves to think otherwise we’d have to ask some difficult questions about the way that we spent those years, and that might challenge some of the assumptions we hold about society and the way that we treat young people.

The belief that school is crucially important means that we can justify causing misery. We justify making small children sit at desks and copy words, when their bodies just want to move. We justify making teenagers spend months taking exam after exam, dominating years of their lives. We justify testing our primary children on grammar they find incomprehensible.

We tell ourselves that it has to be this way, that this is the way to drive up standards. We do to our children what was done to us, because it’s too frightening to do anything else.

We learnt at school to be scared of ourselves and our motivations. We learnt to think that we must be made to do things or else we’d do nothing at all.

Which is strange, because we can see evidence to the contrary all around us. Small children learn wherever they go, with no need for force. Adults set themselves enormous challenges – writing books, and running marathons – with no need for force. Humans are driven to learn and to participate in the world around them. Until you stop them, and tell that that instead, they should follow instructions and do what they’re told.

Somewhere along our motivation was educated out of us. We lost our self-belief. We’re afraid to do anything differently – but if we continue to do what we’ve always done, we will only learn what we’ve always learnt.

Our children need something better. This has to start with us.

Your body never lies.

Your skin, your posture, your muscle tone, even the coating on your tongue…these are diagnostic tools.

They’re reflections of your internal biology.

Skin mirrors the liver because your liver is your primary detox organ. When it’s overwhelmed (by sugar, alcohol, processed foods, or environmental toxins) you might see breakouts, dullness, rashes, or premature aging. Beauty creams won’t fix what a clean diet can.

Posture reflects fascia, the connective tissue influenced by inflammation, hydration, and movement. A slouched posture often indicates stress, sedentary habits, or chronic pain.

Fat distribution is hormonal. Belly fat: Think insulin and cortisol. Thigh and hip fat: Think estrogen. Every bite of food either balances your hormones or throws them into chaos.

Jaw structure and airway health are shaped by nutrition from infancy. A diet low in nutrients and high in soft processed foods can narrow the airway, weaken the jaw, and affect sleep, oxygenation, and even facial development.

Fluid retention signals lymphatic congestion. Your lymph system depends on hydration, movement, and anti-inflammatory foods. Puffy eyes and bloating are red flags.

The tongue mirrors the gut. A coated tongue may indicate dysbiosis, an imbalance in your microbiome. Your gut health shows up in your breath, your digestion, your cravings, and your skin.

Muscle tone is a proxy for mitochondrial health and longevity. Sarcopenia (muscle loss) is one of the earliest signs of biological aging. The more muscle you maintain, the younger your cells behave.

Every cell in your body is built from the food you eat.
Your blood, your skin, your brain, your hormones, it’s all constructed from nutrients you either give your body... or don’t.

Appearance matters: not as a measure of beauty, but as a reflection of biology. Your body is always speaking.

Start listening.

One of the biggest issues that I see with clients is inappropriate carbohydrate-loaded breakfasts and caffeine consumption. Both will usually imbalance blood sugar and the nervous system later on in the day. There are many reasons to reduce or avoid caffeine consumption.

Caffeine is a stimulant that directly induces the adrenocortical cells to produce more cortisol, as well as more adrenaline and insulin and therefore imbalances blood sugar. Thus it is a diuretic (stress is dehydrating due to the nutrients lost), contributing to low hydration, mineral imbalances, and sluggish lymph. Coffee can decrease the absorption of magnesium, which is an important mineral for blood sugar imbalance. It speeds up gut motility.

Caffeine can push phase I of liver detoxification too quickly – most have a phase II that is too slow, and peroxides may then escape into the body, which can then contribute to a whole host of issues, including irritation of the urinary tract, arthritis, and many other issues.

According to Patrick Holford, coffee raises homocysteine levels. 2 cups of coffee a day raises homocysteine (an unhealthy protein linked to many health conditions conditions), by 11% in only 4 hours. The rate at which coffee is metabolised is highly individual. In people who metabolise caffeine slowly, studies show that these people are three times more likely to develop kidney issues, which could show up as a painful back or problems with the posts muscle (usually the first muscle to feel stress in the body). A telltale sign of someone with a psoas muscle issue is a turned out foot. In Kinesiology, this muscle is related to the Kidney Meridian. The emotions of the kidney meridian (Water Element) are fear and anxiety.

Many are not aware of the issues of drinking coffee when on medication. For example, studies show that drinking coffee too soon after taking levothyroxine (medication for low thyroid) can reduce its absorption by up to 50%. Caffeine can also bind to other medications. Caffeine can temporarily raise blood pressure and heart rate due to its stimulating effect on the nervous system, typically lasting three-to-four hours after consumption. So for people taking blood pressure medication or drugs that control irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias), this may counteract the intended effects of the medication.

People that feel that they cannot cope without their morning coffee usually have burdened / worn out adrenals and crave the stimulation to boost their adrenals, the same with some people and exercise or adrenaline-fuelled activities / sports. However, repeatedly kick starting the adrenals may contribute to them becoming even more worn out.

Often times with clients, changing breakfast and caffeine intake can have surprisingly huge benefits. Green tea is usually fine for most people though, just not black tea. Green tea does contain caffeine but it also contains L-theanine which is calming and counters the effects of the adrenaline, as well as providing a lot of antioxidants. Bear in mind that tea is high in fluoride which is a thyroid toxin, so take care if you have thyroid issues.

Bear in mind that most positive coffee research is done or funded by the coffee companies who want you to keep drinking loads of it.
