We will soon be getting drone footage of our Crematorium to showcase our beautiful Memorial Grounds but this is just a still taken from directly above.

Within this single photo there are thousands of Memorials and each one honours the memory of someone who has passed from this life and we are privileged to be the guardians of them all.

Our Memorial Consultant Nikki works with every family to create a memorial which suits their needs and recently she helped one of our own team create the perfect final resting place for their loved one. He was also able to build the garden and each brick was placed with love, as are all the bricks we lay within our Grounds.

Within our area of work we always think the golden rule is treat everything we do as if it was one of our own family members so you can always be sure we will do our very best to uphold that.

If you ever want to come and chat about the options available here then the door is always open, the kettle is always on and Nikki always has a stash of biscuits hidden away from the Grounds Team!

✨WORK IN PROGRESS✨

We have been busy over here at Lancaster & Morecambe Crematorium and we have lots more to do but we wanted to give you a little sneak peak at some of the changes that have been happening.

👷‍♂️From our new Halo lighting and beautiful oak doors to the removal of the heavy curtains from our Altar, we hope you agree that the work so far is looking amazing👷‍♂️

Currently we are working on our Entrance Foyer and Exit area before we replace the main Chapel flooring, chairs and committal curtains.

Our absolute goal is to make sure we are able to provide our families with a comfortable, warm and serene environment to be able to say their final goodbyes to their loved ones and we are committed to making this happen.

❤️We are already beyond proud to serve our local communities but will be even prouder when the work is complete ❤️

🏆WE HAVE A WINNER!! 🏆

🐠As you may remember, earlier in the year we reached out to all the budding young artists in the Bay area to create us a design for a flowerbed in our grounds with the theme UNDER THE SEA 🐠

Firstly, we would like to thank everyone for their amazing entries. We were overwhelmed by the response and all the hard work and detail that had gone into the designs.

We wish we could have chosen all of them but we had to pick one to have their design brought to life by our wonderful Grounds Team here.

☀️The very difficult job went to our CEO Zillah Byng-Thorne who was delighted to choose a winner. She noted the beautiful colours and the effort that had gone into very thoughtfully picking types of flowers to be used☀️

We are very pleased to say that the winner was............

🎉Delilah Wilcox, Aged 6 (and a half!) who attends Bolton Le Sands Primary School 🎉

Delilah visited the Crematorium today with her Granny to see her design brought to life and collect her prize

❤️Yesterday our Business Leader Jayne was lucky enough to receive the ultimate tour of our Grounds and also a reminder of why our Memorials are so important to families as an everlasting place to remember their loved ones ❤️

Her tour guide was the very beautiful Luna, aged 2!

Having met on the car park Luna asked “come see my Nana with me” and led her over to her memorial where she took great care explaining the flowers she had just placed and the angel ornament she had left 👼

It didn’t stop there though as Luna was keen to take her to all the other memorials and look at the flowers and different stones whilst explaining how lovely they were 🥰

Speaking to her Mummy and Daddy, Luna had never met her Nana as she had sadly passed before she was born but as Luna had visited her memorial weekly from a baby she was very much part of her life and history.

It was a joyous 15 minutes and the best reminder of why what we provide for families is so important 💓

Luna left with a promise of bringing a drawing to send to her Nana in our Letters to Heaven Postbox and even one for Jayne’s office wall 🎨

✨ Big changes ahead! ✨

We’re excited to announce that we will be refurbishing the chapel here at Lancaster & Morecambe! We can’t wait to share the transformation with you all, and we’ll be keeping you updated every step of the way. Stay tuned for sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes looks at what’s to come!

The work is due to start on Monday 14th July and will focus on our entrance lobby. Please be assured this will not affect any services that are taking place as they will be entering the Chapel through the rear doors for that week only.

On the afternoon of Friday 25th July we will be closing the Chapel until Tuesday 5th August, during which period we will not be holding any services.

However the office and our beautiful grounds will still be open so please be assured we are very much still here!

🕊️🕊️LETTERS TO HEAVEN 🕊️🕊️

We are really pleased to announce the installation of our Letters to Heaven postbox here in our Memorial Gardens.

📮Our Postbox enables people to write letters or cards to their loved ones and “post them”, whether this is a birthday, Christmas or just because you want to share something important with your loved one 📮

Located next to our car park, the letterbox is available for all to use and please be assured that anything placed in there is treated with the utmost respect and confidentiality. They are never opened or read and using an eco friendly method they will eventually be turned into compost which is then used in our memorial gardens to ensure they never leave the site.

✍️ We can provide special note paper and envelopes so if you would like to write a message then you can pop in and have a brew and a biscuit in our family room or alternatively take it home to write in your own time ✍️

We hope you agree that this is a beautiful addition to our grounds and we hope that in some way it will help bring you comfort by allowing you to feel a connection to your loved ones ❤️

🎶 We are really pleased to say that today we have gone live with our new media provider Obitus 🎶

We believe they are the very best in helping families make their funeral service special through music, tributes, streaming and keepsakes 🎥

We think each service should be as personal as the life that is being celebrated and Obitus can help to achieve that from the song choices right through to Video Books and Memory Boxes.

🌸🌼It's one of our favourite times of the year as we get to add lots of lovely colour to our grounds through the planting of all our Summer Bedding!🌼🌸

🪏The team have been working hard this week to fill all our garden beds and hanging baskets and over the next few weeks we should be able to see the flowers in all their glory 🪏

Thank you to our team for helping create such a serene and special place. If you’re ever visiting give a little wave and say Hi to our grounds team, they are always happy to help! 👋

🌹We have many options from our niche walls to our beautiful slate gardens using locally sourced materials from the Lake District but the key thing is we will ensure that each memorial is bespoke to you 🌹

🌸It’s one of our favourite times of the year in our grounds as our beautiful Cherry Blossom trees come into full bloom 🌸
They are truly magnificent and become a focal point of our beautiful Memorial Grounds ❤️
It saddens us to say they don’t last for long and soon we will have a blanket of pink petals which the team will carefully collect but it’s worth the effort to see them in all their glory right now.
Please remember anyone is welcome to come and visit their beauty and if you come to the office we will even make you a brew so you can spend 5 minutes of peace admiring them☕️
