Taking your bra off at the end of the day feels great.

And so does getting your breast screening sorted. It can detect cancer before you can feel it. Or more likely, put your mind at rest.

So when you're invited, save the date. It could save your life.

Bay Hospitals Charity are pleased to have funded a Mammography Chair for Breast Screening costing £2,882.00. The equipment supports the service in providing an equitable and accessible service for anyone with a physical restriction, who is in a wheelchair or may require to be seated for their routine screening mammogram. The chair is also ergonomically designed to support staff and prevent any unnecessary MSK injuries.

Feedback from staff is that it is very comfortable for service users and the arms on the chair are low to make transfer from their personal wheelchairs a safer experience. One patient has submitted a compliment on family and friends feedback advising the chair made the experience much easier.
Patient feedback:
'The Mammographers were very kind and friendly. I was able to use a wheelchair friendly chair. They managed to take my X-rays as best as they could. I received my results quickly and I felt happy and grateful.'

The Breast Screening service sees approximately 39,000 service users per year. This purchase ensures that anyone with a physical restriction, mobility issue or is in a wheelchair has equitable access to routine screening. It ensures service users can be seated during a mammogram to enable the performing clinician to take high-quality diagnostic images and provides a more comfortable experience for the service user.

Donations allow us to make a difference for both patients and staff. If you would like to support our work please go to the Bay Hospitals Charity website: https://www.bayhospitalscharity.org/donate
