‼️Galgate Health Centre closure - TOMORROW‼️

❌ Galgate Health Centre will be closed to patients on Thursday 27 November only to enable us to safely carry out some essential maintenance.

The building will be completely closed, which means:

📆 Appointments will not be available at Galgate — but we’ll happily offer you an appointment at one of our nearby sites if you need one.
📄 Prescription slip can still be dropped off at Galgate – just post them in the post box on the front of the building.
❎ However, samples can’t be accepted at Galgate — these will need to be taken to an alternative site.
📲📞 If you need to get in touch, please contact us online via Patchs or by phone (01524 238150) rather than coming to reception. Reception teams at our other sites will be available if you need them.
💊 Galgate Pharmacy inside the building will also be closed, reopening on Friday 28 November.

We’re really sorry for any inconvenience this causes, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

November is Men’s health Month, and we want to take the opportunity to tell you about a free NHS health check just for men aged 65 and over.

It’s called Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm screening, and is a simple scan of your stomach to look for swelling in your aorta. This is the main blood vessel in your body, which gets weaker as you age. An AAA is 6 times more common in men than it is in women, but this simple scan can find it early so it can be monitored or treated if necessary.

When you turn 65 you will be automatically invited to a local NHS clinic for your appointment. If you are over 66 and have never been screened, just call Lancashire and South Cumbria screening service on 0191 445 8747 to book – it’s that easy! 10 minutes could save your life.
