ℹ️ Advance notice - upcoming practice closure

We will be closed from 1:00pm on Thursday 12 March for essential staff training and we will re-open at 8:00am on Friday 13 March.

If you require medical assistance while we are closed, please contact 111.

In an emergency (if you have chest pains and / or shortness of breath), dial 999.

Still thinking about getting your flu jab? Time is running out! ⏰

The flu vaccine is available at the practice for eligible patients until the end of March. We still have some appointments left!

Did you know that you can have your flu jab later on in the flu season and still get protected? This is particularly important if you have certain long-term health conditions which place you at greater risk of serious illness should you get flu.

Parents and carers, you may have seen that measles cases are rising in parts of England.

Illnesses like measles can be very serious, especially for young children - but the good news is that vaccination offers the best protection!

If you’re not sure if your child is up to date with their vaccines, it’s a good idea to check. You can look in your child’s red book or contact us, and we'll be happy to help ☺️.

We’re looking for Patient Services Navigators to work as part of our friendly reception team.

In this role you'll be:

📅 Assisting patients with making appointments, accessing care and directing them to the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

📞 👨‍💻You'll work as part of our busy telephone hub and you will interact positively with patients on a daily basis whilst working on our reception desks.

📝 In this integral role, you will also provide supportive reception and administrative services to patients and members of the primary health care team.

Important info for NHS App users!

Some of our appointments can be booked through the NHS App 📲. When patients do this, there is an option to save the appointment details to the calendar on their phone as a reminder 📆.

This is a handy feature, but we've noticed that when LMP patients do this, the appointment location within the calendar entry automatically defaults to Dalton Square, which means the appointment location may be wrong (if your appointment isn't at Dalton Square!)

We've reported this to the NHS App team to fix, but in the meantime, patients saving appointment reminders in their phone calendar from the NHS App are advised to:

❌ Remember that the appointment location in the calendar entry on their phone may not be correct, and
✅ Check your appointment details in NHS App itself to be sure of the correct location.

If you have a long-term health condition, you might be eligible for a free flu vaccine - it's not too late to get yours! 💉

The flu can hit harder if you have certain health conditions, so getting vaccinated can really help protect you from becoming seriously unwell. 🤒

ℹ You’re eligible if you have a chronic heart condition, a respiratory condition like COPD or severe asthma, kidney disease, diabetes, liver disease, a neurological condition (such as cerebral palsy, MS, Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease, or if you’ve had a stroke), or if you’re immunosuppressed.
