🌍 Happy International Women’s Day 2026!

Across the Lancaster District, much of the work that supports our communities is driven by women who show up every day with care, commitment and leadership.

At Lancaster District CVS we see this in action constantly. The women in our team bring compassion, expertise, creativity and vision to their work supporting individuals, community groups and organisations across the district. Much of this happens behind the scenes, but the impact is felt widely.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Give To Gain,” reminds us that when we give our time, knowledge, support and encouragement, the benefits multiply across our communities. Giving is not a subtraction. It is how we grow opportunity, connection and equality.

Today we recognise and celebrate the incredible ladies at LDCVS who help make that possible, week in week out…

Thank you to all the women that make up our team of staff, trustees and volunteers - Ali, Andrea, Angela, Anna, Catherine, Christine, Emma, Hazel, Jenny, Jess, Molly, Rachel, Sharon, Shweta and Tanya. We’re also grateful to the community partners who stand alongside us as we work together to build a more inclusive, equitable and supportive future.

🏆 We take on Blackpool Football Therapy CIC - Charity Team, which will be managed by former Dolly Blue, Mark 'Wolfie' Thornley's son, Dan Thornley!

✅ Entry will be free, and refreshments will be available from Dolly's Diner.

🫡 Please come down and support your Dolly Blue military veterans for our annual fixture in remembrance of Lancastrian military members who have gave their lives over the years.
