As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will help to improve the medical care of patients by carrying out simple clinical observations and investigations, such as dipstick, blood pressures, phlebotomy, New patient checks, NHS health checks, wound care and minor injuries. You will also provide administrative and patient contact support as directed by the management team.
Previous experience in a health care setting is desirable, although any additional training will be provided.
The post has been advertised as an Experienced Health Care Assistant however the practice would welcome applications from treatment room nurses. The job specification and job description would be adjusted accordingly. We are looking to employ a member of staff to cover treatment room work but with developmental possibilities in the future.

If you have any of the conditions shown in the picture it's possible our receptionists will send an electronic referral to a local pharmacy. The pharmacy will then contact you directly to arrange an appointment, usually on the same day.

The Pharmacy First service aims to empower pharmacists to provide advice and treatment for common health conditions, easing pressure on GP and A&E services. It aims to improve patient access to care by expanding the role of community pharmacies as a first point of contact for minor illnesses. Specifically, it allows pharmacists to supply NHS-funded medicines and treat the seven common conditions shown in the picture without requiring a GP appointment.

We get a lot of phone calls each day from patients asking 'is my medication ready?'. Your first port of call should always be the place you collect your medication from! Please check with them BEFORE calling the surgery. Obviously, the exception to this is if you're a patient who collects from our Dispensary within the surgery.
