Sooooo, I’m giving online yoga another try!!!
Schedules change over summer and it’s not always easy to get to in person classes so from Monday 21st July until Friday 29th August I’ll be offering 3 weekly 30 min online practices.
These will be:
Monday 6.30am - A Yang Practice
Wednesday 6.30am - A Yin practice
Friday 8.30pm - A Relaxation practice

You can join live via zoom or receive a recorded version to practice in your own time or BOTH.
The cost for the 6 weeks is £20.

If we use breath awareness in our poses, we get to explore how far or how deep we should go and when we need to yield & surrender.
Our breath connects our mind & body to create relaxed awareness. If we move with the breath, we cultivate a sensitivity to the ever changing needs of the body & begin to tether the wild horse of the mind.

Breath work is an essential part of every yoga class/practice that I teach. Connecting into self is what makes the difference between making shapes with our bodies and practicing yoga.

Fascia, Biotensegrity & Your Body's Emotional Memory

Did you know your fascia—that interconnected web of connective tissue throughout your body—might be holding onto your emotional history?

Our bodies follow biotensegrity principles, where tension and compression work together to maintain structural integrity. When emotions get "stuck," they can manifest as physical pain patterns in this fascial network.

What's fascinating is fascia's piezoelectric properties—it literally generates electrical charges when compressed or stretched! This might explain how emotional memories become encoded in our tissues over time.

This isn't just metaphorical—it's backed by science. Research has demonstrated that fascia contains mechanoreceptors and nociceptors that communicate directly with our nervous system. A groundbreaking 2018 study in the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies (Schleip & Klingler) confirmed that fascia responds to emotional stress by changing its tension patterns and inflammatory markers.

In a fascinating 2007 study published in the Journal of Cellular Physiology, researchers showed that fascial fibroblasts produce different cytokine responses when subjected to mechanical stress—explaining how emotional tension literally changes our tissue composition at a cellular level!

Next time you feel that mysterious shoulder tension or lower back pain, consider what emotions might be stored there. Your body remembers what your mind tries to forget.

I need your help- I’m running a 6 week yoga course in Garstang on a Thursday Evening at 6pm and would to get some feedback from you all.
I’d like to theme this course and have some ideas but would like to hear your thoughts. Themes could be concepts or physical aspects of the body.
