Teaching your child to tie shoes? Try the Two Bunny Ears technique 🐰🐰
It’s one of our OT favorites because it: ✨ Uses both hands equally
✨ Is easier for visual learners 👀
✨ Reduces frustration 💛
🧠 OT Tips for Success:
👟 Practice with the shoe on the table, not on the foot
🎨 Use two different-colored laces
🗣️ Say the steps out loud every time
🐰 Step-by-Step:
1️⃣ Cross the laces ❌
2️⃣ Make two bunny ears 🐰🐰
3️⃣ Cross the ears 🤗
4️⃣ Push one ear through the hole 🕳️
5️⃣ Pull tight 🙌
Remember: shoelace tying is a big motor skill 💪
Struggling doesn’t mean your child isn’t trying—it means they’re still learning 🌱

Vaccinations protect children from serious illnesses and help keep families and communities safe. Following the routine childhood vaccination schedule gives your child the best possible protection as they grow.

Routine childhood vaccinations include:
👶 8, 12 and 16 weeks - protection against illnesses such as whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus, polio and meningitis
👧 1 year - boosters and protection against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR)
🧒 3 years 4 months - pre-school boosters
🎒 School age - further boosters and the HPV vaccine (offered in school)

The children’s flu vaccine is offered every year to eligible children and helps protect against flu and possible complications.

If your child has missed any vaccinations, it’s never too late to catch up.
