Just Announced: UK Government to Introduce Legislation to Regulate and Licence Cosmetic Procedures

New protections announced intended to safeguard the public and restore trust in the sector:

Only healthcare professionals will be allowed to perform the highest-risk procedures, including non-surgical Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLS)

Mandatory licensing for clinics offering Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers - with strict standards for training, hygiene and insurance

Age restrictions to protect under-18's from social media-fuelled treatment trends

Action on rogue operators whose botched
work causes physical harm and adds cost to the NHS

CQC regulation required for highest-risk treatments

Health Minister Karin Smyth MP says:

“This isn’t about stopping people from seeking treatments - it’s about keeping them safe. We’re rooting out cosmetic cowboys and protecting the public.”

Ask the person who does your treatment for copies of their Qualifications - CPD Certificates are not Qualifications.
