2 Agriminds events to attend in one week!! I’d thought about home g off talking about this until next week as most of the time this page doesn’t get much posted to it. An excellent night at the Barn in Scorton to talk about rural issues to inform policies going forward

So excited to be able to post something on the Agriminds page today!! Here in attendance at Oakhill Farm Vets Business day. It’s not often I have the opportunity to post about this area of my work as the majority of the time it’s all about confidentiality. All money raised for Agriminds goes towards the work with the farming community. Banners: self funded with some sponsorship from S & G Plant.

A new survey is seeking the views of women in farming – helping to improve the support provided for their health and wellbeing: https://exe.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5pqBN1BBqIxEns2

The survey has launched during (12–18 May) – with a focus on the power of community.

The research is led by the University of Exeter Centre for Rural Policy Research and FCN and aims to better understand the physical and mental health of women working in agriculture, including potential stressors in farming and barriers to seeking support.

Findings will also offer insights into the aspects of farming that women find most positive, as well as their experiences of accessing appropriate healthcare and suggestions for further support.

Linda Jones, National Manager (FCN Cymru), said: “There has historically been limited research conducted into the health and wellbeing of women in farming – including both the positive aspects, as well as any unique stressors or barriers that may be faced and potential implications for their life choices. This is an important opportunity for women in farming to share their views and contribute to this new research."

FCN is here to listen and support you with any worries or concerns you may have. Call FCN in confidence on 03000 111 999 or email help@fcn.org.uk to speak in confidence with a volunteer who understands farming life.

There's still time to fill in our survey with Addington Fund. We are seeking the views of UK farmers to help ensure our support and services continue to meet the evolving needs of farming people.

This includes assessing which areas are most pressing or causing the most stress – such as succession planning, mental health and wellbeing, labour shortages or financial sustainability - and the methods in which you would prefer to engage with charities.

It should take no more than 10 minutes to complete the survey, and by providing an email address responders can enter a draw to win a £50 M&S gift card.

Farming Help is a collaboration between national charities Addington Fund (England and Wales) and The Farming Community Network (UK wide). The overarching aim of Farming Help is to facilitate good collaborative working practices by the national farming charities to the benefit of the wider agricultural community.
