Today is Lizzy’s last day working at J Mason and Son!

She is spreading her wings and moving on to her dream role as an Embalmer which she is still working so hard to achieve on her Embalming course.

It’s hard to say goodbye as a mother and daughter duo in the funeral world but Jane is so proud of Lizzy’s achievements and has been so supportive of Lizzy’s decision to do so.

On Friday we were invited down to Inspired Meadows

A new take on a natural burial site located near Kendal.

We loved our tour and chat with Kitty and we really loved the openness of the location and the ethos behind it all!

They offer full plots and ashes casket plots which also allow for the cremated remains of any pets to be buried in them!

You also have free rein on the plot which means you can plant your own flowers there and truly make the plots for your loved ones your own.

Exciting times for Lancaster & Morecambe Crematorium ahead!

✨ Big changes ahead! ✨

We’re excited to announce that we will be refurbishing the chapel here at Lancaster & Morecambe! We can’t wait to share the transformation with you all, and we’ll be keeping you updated every step of the way. Stay tuned for sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes looks at what’s to come!

The work is due to start on Monday 14th July and will focus on our entrance lobby. Please be assured this will not affect any services that are taking place as they will be entering the Chapel through the rear doors for that week only.

On the afternoon of Friday 25th July we will be closing the Chapel until Tuesday 5th August, during which period we will not be holding any services.

However the office and our beautiful grounds will still be open so please be assured we are very much still here!

Jane Nicholson play date for mr Burt & the gorgeous Miss Martha ❤️ Xx

We love dogs here and we had a lovely visit yesterday from Martha! Burt was in his element with his new doggy pal!

Martha is a Boston Terrier and she has very much stolen ours (and Burts!) hearts!

We conducted a funeral on behalf of Martha’s owners who were so kind to also bring us some flowers as a thank you. Stunning colours which were their mums favourite!

We have been overwhelmed with the generosity of our clients this past week and we can’t thank you all enough!

J Mason and Son Funeral Directors

We have been established since 1914 providing funeral services for the people of Lancaster, Morecambe and the surrounding areas. We show compassion and care to our families and do our best to provide whatever they require for a funeral service, be it burial, cremation, green burial or a burial of ashes. We have a fleet of traditional funeral cars but if you are looking for something different we can also offer alternatives such as a Horse and Carriage Hearse, a Motorbike and sidecar hearse and even the Only Fools and Horses famous Reliant Robin as a hearse. Our premises includes a chapel of rest where you can spend time with your loved one and also comfortable arrangement rooms. We are on call 24 hours a day and 7 days a week should we need to be contacted regarding any services that may be required from us.
