What Can Going Green Do For You??

🥦The green group of foods are great at detoxifying and antioxidant.

🥬They help in the fight against wrinkles, which is what we all want.

🥒They contain high levels of sulphur which is known to be good for your hair and skin.

🥦They are also high in minerals like selenium, which boost your immune system and support your metabolism.

🥬Selenium also assists in helping the body to absorb vitamin E.

🥒Green foods can help regulate blood sugar levels and stop you craving sugary fatty foods so can assist in weight loss.

Don't Skip Your Breakfast
Get your day off to a good start and have breakfast. It breaks the over night fast, helping you to wake up and get going.
It stops you feeling hungry later on and helps you be more alert.

If you eat before you leave your home you are less likely to grab a high fat snack on the way.

I eat as soon as I get up, I am always hungry in the morning.

If you really don't have time to make breakfast as you like extra sleep or you have children to get ready then take a piece of fruit to eat on the way such as a banana or an apple or take some nuts and seeds or a yogurt.

You could get items out ready the night before to help the morning rush which is what I do if I have an early start. It really helps.

These great little nuts are good for.........

● Help to protect cells from free radicals, slowing down the aging process.

● good source of protein

● contain more fibre than any other nut.

● loaded with calcium

● great source of monounsaturated fatty acids which help lower cholesterol

Almonds are just an amazing snack excellent for fighting off those hunger pangs.

As New Year approaches many people think New Year - New crazy diet and rush to start a fad diet. You don't need to start a very restrictive diet and you will probably find that it will be very diificult to keep it up. I strongly believe in everything in moderation. Think about your portion sizes, look at how big your plate is and do you really need to pile it up full of food....

Many people see New Year as the start of improving health and losing weight by doing a crazy fad diet, these diets don't work.

Green tea used to be one of my favourite drinks until I had covid and now I don't like the taste which is a shame as I used to drink 3-4 cups per day and it has great health benefits.

Green tea is one of the richest sources of antioxidants due to the content of flavonoids it helps protect against ageing. It can help neutralize effects of free radicals and helping to prevent diseases.

It has been shown to boost metabolism, increase energy production and break down fat stored in the body.

Green tea is an anti-inflammatory and can also help to lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

Hopefully one day I will enjoy the taste again.
