This one is for the Ladies!
We shouldn’t need to feel apologetic for our bodies ever, but especially not in my room.
It’s fine if you don’t or haven’t shaved your legs.
You don’t need to paint your toes for me.
Washing your hair before a massage would be unnecessary.

I’m here to help you look after your bodies not to make you feel embarrassed 🥰

MARCH
This month has been incredible. I think it helps that it’s finally (for the most part) stopped raining.
I’ve got to spend a lot of time outside which is my number 1 when looking after my mental health 🧠
I spent a day refreshing my knowledge of TMJ massage.
The most exciting part of this month is starting my ACMT with .
Which means Advanced Clinical Massage 🎉
- this might require it’s own post but in short I’m spending the next year learning about different contributors to chronic pain and learning what I can do as a massage therapist to help.
This month’s topic was lower back pain.
If this is something that has affected you, please send me a DM saying “me” and I can discuss further options of how I can help 😊

FEBRUARY.
I know we are all feeling down with constant rain and grey skies, but he have had some moments of sunshine, hopefully a sneak peak for what’s soon to come 😊
I’ve been making a start to some studies that I’m doing this year with and enjoying as much of the outdoors as you can in the weather but mostly resting and resetting!!
Once those dry sunny days are here life will start to get busier again so trying to enjoy these cosy days/ trying to see some positive 😅

There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to massage.
Each persons pain threshold is different and each client that enters my room has different needs and wants from their treatment. However,
If a technique I am using is hurting, then the person lying on the massage couch is tensing, potentially causing more harm than good. This is the opposite of what we are trying to achieve. So in actual fact less pain more gain!

This is why communication between therapist and client is so important. If I’m trying to help you get out of pain, I don’t want to put you in it. Throughout treatment I will check in with you and see where we are landing on YOUR pain scale.
Your massage is always for you and about you.

If you’re struggling with the discomfort that comes with TMJ (jaw joint) disfunction, here are 3 things you can do at home to help reduce those symptoms!!
-Firstly avoid chewing gum- this gives your jaw an extra work out you don’t need!
- Cut your food into smaller pieces and chew evenly on both sides- we often don’t realise when we have a more dominant side for chewing.
- Intra oral self massage - just a minute or 2 of self massage before bed or before a meeting when you find you’re more likely to feel tense will ease the muscles and help reduce clenching.

Drop me a message if you want to know more about how TMJ massage can help you 😊
