International Day of Peace
In Buddhism we are taught that to achieve peace as a collective we must start with ourselves. Find our own inner peace. The irony is that in order to do so, we have to experience the confrontation of the truth about who we are, we have to notice all the times we are not being peaceful, we begin to see our flaws and realise more about ourselves.
The very nature of this process is messy, sometimes you're you can feel up on your game and experience the joy of living in alignment with your inner wisdom, and then the crash - an argument or a trigger pulls you back into irrational behavior, saying and doing things that are against the inner desire for peace.
When arguments take place, usually both sides are convinced they are right.
When we engage in inner reflection, conscious self awareness, we gain insight into ourselves and we might get to understand ourselves better, this is an improvement on self loathing, and so it is a welcome step.
Sometimes we owe ourselves a deep apology.
With reflection, we can see something from our past with better vision, in that, we can extend compassion and then forgive our past selves for whatever it is that we are purging from.
When we consider that humanity is an extension of the Divine, we are invited to constantly upgrade our patterns of thinking, to self-heal by creating a narrative about ourselves which actually empowers us instead of limiting or downgrading our possible future outcomes in life.
I think God understands why we argue, why we have a certain level of peace in our collective but not entire humanity. I think we are invited to help create perfect peace by the witnessing of disharmony.
Everything is an opportunity to evolve if you can maintain Hope.
As we witness Saturn in the night sky we are held accountable for our progress. The moon invites us to let go of the baggage holding new thinking back, an opportunity to get clear on what you want for the month ahead. Knowing the power of your Attention, you can use your freed up mind space to focus more on that which you wish to see more of.
