Hi everyone and Happy Monday!!
Only 10 days until Christmas …. Lots of Christmas parties to go to. Unfortunately alcoholic doesn’t always make everyone fun so please bear in mind that this time of year is also one of the worst times for Domestic Abuse.
Keep an eye on your friends and loved ones and be aware of the signs. Abusers are great at appearing to be loving and caring in front of others but can manipulate and isolate their partners leaving them vulnerable, alone and too scared to talk to anyone. They can hurt them where it can’t be seen and apologise afterwards passing the blame onto them. If you hadn’t worn that top or if you hadn’t moved that cup or bought the wrong coffee then they wouldn’t have done it. On and on until you are scared or stopped from going out and have no confidence left because everything is your fault and your stupid, or so they say!
If you have noticed any changes or withdrawal then please try to check on your friends, in person, preferably when they’re alone and let them know you’re there or give them a contact that can help. They may be too scared to ask for help or even embarrassed that they are being treated that way, it’s amazing what great actors people can be when they’re scared! Stay aware, and try to take care of yourselves and others. It’s better too careful rather than too late!!
My clinic is a safe place, if anyone needs help or a reason to get out they can book a free consultation and I will make sure you get the help you need.
If I am not local to you then please message me and I will find someone who is that can help.
