🗣️Why does my horse not relax during a treatment like the ones you post on social media?”

These are questions I get regularly and it’s hard as social media only shows one side.
I treat a lot of horses from all types of disciplines, personalities, breeds etc and I do treat a lot of horses who are quite guarded and don’t show that relaxation and release especially in the first initial treatments.
However, what’s interesting about the Hofmag is it’s still giving an effective treatment. Just because the horse isn’t showing an immediate relaxation or release, I do often see it after we’ve finished and walked away, they will then drop their head, yawn, show a real release!
Every horse, like humans, are different. Some might not be able to/want to let their guards down and let me in straight away, this might be due to their history or just their personality type. Some just don’t like being touched or think it’s going to hurt- maybe from a pain memory. Some horses are just a little bit anxious and worried and have their guard up and struggle to let that down. No matter what the reason is the Hofmag works effectively and the release will happen it just might not be an immediate effect. This doesn’t mean the horse isn’t enjoying the treatment or that the treatment isn’t being effective.

One of the biggest benefits of using the Hofmag is it gives me the ability to treat areas which no other electrotherapy allows me too!
The horses jaw is a very complex structure which has a multitude of different structures, that effect the whole of the horses body. Such a sensitive and complex area so easily gets over looked and unaddressed due to not being able to effectively target this area. We then we add things like a bit, reins and a contact then we naturally create tension through this structure.
