šLong post, but important oneš
This past year has been such a beautiful journey. Holding yoga classes and a full course for the Global Majority in collaboration with .shack has meant more to me than I can put into words.
To everyone who showed up, whether for one class or the whole journey, thank you. Thank you for trusting me, moving with me, sharing space, resting deeply, and showing up for yourselves. Every session reminded me why I do this work.
Creating and protecting wellness spaces for the Global Majority is essential. So many of us move through systems and environments that werenāt built with us in mind. Having a place where we can breathe, heal, learn, reconnect with our bodies, and be fully seen is not just important. Itās transformative. These classes are more than yoga; theyāre community, affirmation, and reclamation.
To Sister Shack, thank you for believing in me, in my purpose, and in the vision of making wellness accessible, grounding, and culturally affirming. Your support has been everything š¤
And thank you, for letting us such a warm, cosy and welcoming space.
Hearing your reflections and feedback throughout the year has filled me with so much joy and affirmation. Here are a few words fromĀ theĀ community:
āI really appreciated the structure of the course. Carina was culturally appreciative of yoga and has a good knowledge of the spiritualityā¦Having a teacher who is also global majority and who is mindful of disabilities and the ways that different bodies can / canāt move really supported my participation and feeling encouraged to attend and try my best at my own pace.ā
āThe knowledge of the course is in depth and actually shares life changing ethos. Yoga is so much more than movement.ā
āThese courses nurture spirituality, mind-body connection, and encourage people to have greater wellbeing in a safer space. Global majority communities can hold a lot of trauma individually and collectively so having courses like these are vital for healing.ā
