Flame 18: Gratefulness

Brigid I thank thee three times three:
For my birth, my body, my spirit,
For my kin, my clan, my tribe,
For my home, my work, my knowledge of thee.

🙏

Tonight I will leave some offerings at my front door:
Some food - in gratitude of always having enough to eat
A flame - in gratitude of having a warm home
Water - in gratitude of clean water

Beliefs are that if you lay out offerings for Brigid on the eve of Imbolc, when she passes ✨️, she will bless your home and hearth, protecting you from hunger, thirst or fire in the year ahead.
Some people might leave a cross, woven with reeds, a piece of cloth, blessed by Brigid, to be used to aid healing or any number of items you would like blessed or even ideas you'd like help in bringing to fruition. Alternatively, don't do any of this, maybe simply set an intention. Do whatever feels good for you. 💕

Brigid of the timeless flame, bless your daughters:
Those who keep the circle bright,
Those whose faith has never failed,
Those who keep your name ablaze.

Since ancient times there have been a sisterhood of women who have kept a flame burning, always, in the name of Brigid. Thought to have begun in Kildare, in Ireland, there are now Brigidine Sisters in various parts of the world.
