For me, it is awesome to get the benefits of post operative physiotherapy recognised .
Surgery is the starting point, the first couple of weeks post surgery are pivotal in gaining the maximal potential of your new joint.
Working with a physio at this time, often only a couple of sessions, can help gain the confidence to push through, reassurance that what you are doing will be beneficial although tough initially.
Expert advice and help to restore a normal walking pattern is also essential. From my experience, patients who start their recovery with a poor walking pattern will often not reach their optimal potential.
Most importantly, I feel so grateful for the kind words recognising my commitment to my patients.
