As the new moon slipped quietly into the sky on the 17th,
drawing a velvet curtain of darkness across the heavens 🌙
It became a perfect stage for the Lyrid meteor shower to awaken. 💫
For a week, the night will whisper with falling stars,
reaching its luminous peak on the 22nd and 23rd April,
when up to twenty meteors an hour may grace the sky.💫
They spill from Lyra’s ancient constellation, yet they wander freely across the vastness above us, some burning bright 🌟
enough to leave soft, shimmering trails, ghostly echoes that linger for a breath or two.
And as the Lyrids dance, another current begins to stir.
From April 19th through to May 28th, the Eta Aquarids flow into our nights born of Aquarius, hidden low beneath the eastern horizon.
Though their heart beats strongest in southern skies,
we, too, are gifted their passage, twenty, perhaps thirty meteors an hour threading light through the darkness, reminding us that even unseen origins can still touch us with wonder. 💫
