A Gentle Light, Now Passed On
The Sunday silence fell, a hush so deep,
A Master Teacher gone, his lessons to keep.
Travis, your name, a whisper on the breeze,
Carrying echoes of your gentle ease.
"Right-mindedness is virtue," you would say,
And point us to the path, the Reiki way.
Not grand pronouncements, but a quiet guide,
In simple truths, where true compassion hide.
Do not anger, you taught, the burning fire,
To quell the heat, and lift ourselves higher.
To breathe, to pause, to find the space within,
Where peace resides, and new awareness can begin.
Do not worry, the anxious, fretful call,
Release its grip, let burdens softly fall.
For in the flow, the present, lies the grace,
To trust the path, find comfort in this place.
Be grateful, for the gifts, both large and small,
The sun's warm kiss, the gentle rain that fall.
A heart that opens, to appreciate each day,
Reflects the light, that guides us on our way.
Be true to your way and your being, you’d implore,
To honor the soul, and what it's living for.
To listen deeply to that inner voice,
And make your life, a conscious, loving choice.
Show compassion to yourself and others, too,
The kindest act, that love can help us do.
To see the spark, the shared humanity,
In every soul, for all eternity.
Travis, dear friend, your teachings resonate,
A legacy of love, we celebrate.
Though you have left this earthly, mortal shore,
Your light remains, forever to explore.
May your spirit soar, in boundless, silent flight,
Bathed in the glow of love’s eternal light.
And we, your family, friends and students, on this sacred ground,
Will carry your wisdom, where your truth is found.
In loving memory of Travis Wade Mills
