This past week Larne Air Cadets took part in an Essential First Aid training session, covering key lifesaving skills through both lessons and hands-on practice.

✅ Primary Survey – learning how to quickly assess a casualty’s condition.
✅ Recovery Position – keeping an unconscious casualty safe while waiting for help.
✅ CPR – practicing vital chest compressions that can save lives in an emergency.
✅ Choking – how to react quickly and effectively when every second counts.
✅ Minor & Major Bleeds – understanding how to manage injuries, from small cuts to serious bleeding.

Our cadets showed fantastic focus and enthusiasm, building confidence in skills that could one day make all the difference. 💪

Air Cadets from Larne visited their Headquarters in Antrim to partake in Training/ Weapon Handling Test (WHT) & Live Firing & Marksmanship Training (LFMT) on the BSA Scorpion Air Rifle.

LFMT develops discipline, self-control, and focus, while allowing cadets to pursue marksmanship awards and build confidence through achievement.

Looking for an exciting, structured, and rewarding activity for your young person? The RAF Air Cadets in Larne are welcoming new members!

• Young people aged 12 (in Year 9 of secondary school) to 16 years old

📌 When do we meet?
• Monday evenings, 7–10pm in Larne

Cadets and staff from Antrim, Holywood, and Larne took part in a recruitment drive during the Antrim Coast Half Marathon today. The flight simulators proved especially popular, giving potential recruits the chance to experience the challenges of flying.

In addition, the cadets assisted with marshalling the runners and managed the secure baggage area, ensuring that runners’ belongings were safely stored and returned after they completed the race.

Cadets from Larne and Carrickfergus held a recruiting drive at the Whitehead summer fete.
The cadets manned the Flight Simulators, where potential cadets enjoyed the challenge of flying.

Cadets Jacob Willighan and Avan Mitchell had a fantastic day with No13 Air Experience at Aldergrove. They both completed their Aviation Training Package, gaining Blue Wings each.

Last night, we had Wing Commander Chris Hodges visiting 806 Sqn for an Annual Formal Inspection.
The Sqn carried on as a normal parade night with classification training, while the Wg Cdr chatted to staff and cadets.
Afterwards the Wg Cdr presented certificates to the cadets.
