I think this photo sums up our first Embraced by Nature session 🥰

🥾 We enjoyed a relaxing walk around the woods, chatting and getting to know each other, pausing to identify some of the trees and plants along the way and really appreciating the beauty of nature at this time of year.

🌳 We then headed to the Forest School site for a cuppa and a snack (for the grown ups and our littlest group member!) and I captured this gorgeous moment as mum and baby lay back and watched the trees.

Adults - still time to book on for this session 12-2 today. We are going to enjoy the woodland (whatever the weather decides to do 😂), do a little tool work and whittling, a mindfulness activity and toast some fruit loaf over the campfire. Let’s start building our community, Together in Nature

Can you do me a favour? Tomorrow (Thursday) 10.30-12 is the first Embraced by Nature but I don’t think word has got around yet. If you know someone who is expecting or has a baby under 1 or you’re part of a local mums group or community page, could you share the poster?

I really think this group is going to be special. Babies generally love being outdoors. My children spent so much time outdoors when they were babies and I’m sure that’s why they were so happy and content and slept better. And it helped me massively too. Making friends with other parents in a beautiful environment with the smells and sounds of nature was just what I needed.

🌳 I love how each person who attends Forest School brings their own ideas, skills and energy to the woods and our community. This young person is really talented with carpentry and loves to build stuff. He asked me what would be useful and I said a saw horse, so he and his grandad whipped this up. How awesome is that?!

🌲 This will now benefit all the people who attend all the sessions at Pennygillam Community Woodland.

Before I order some, I wondered if anyone had any the would like to donate? Part of the Forest School philosophy is caring for nature so I would prefer not to buy new.

🏳️‍🌈OUT in Nature launches next Saturday 2nd May 1 - 2.30pm. For families (including chosen family) with at least one person who identifies as LGBTQIA+. Come and connect with others and enjoy time in the beautiful Pennygillam Community Woodland.

🏳️‍⚧️There will be hammocks, mud kitchen, crafts, bush craft skills and marshmallows to toast over the fire.
