Wishing everyone a peaceful and happy Easter 🌿

This time of year gently reminds us of renewal, light returning, and the quiet strength of new beginnings.

As we move energetically from the season of winter to spring, it is important to ground yourself and connect with nature, to allow the body to assimilate to the new season - sitting in the garden or taking a walk in wildlife noticing the buds and the buzz of the creatures. Without this grounding in the new season, we can find ourselves feeling lethargic, irritable or overwhelmed at the transition from winter.

Be kind to yourself as the spring energies unfurl. Be wary of the pull to cram your days with endless action and doing. Deliberately prioritise moments to be still and enjoy the awakening of nature around you.

Wishing everyone a peaceful and happy Easter 🌿

This time of year gently reminds us of renewal, light returning, and the quiet strength of new beginnings.

The Year of the Horse: Moving Forward With Heart

Chinese New Year (the Lunar New Year) begins on 17th February, inviting us into a fresh cycle - a moment to listen inward and sense what wants to emerge. As we enter the Year of the Horse, the energy shifts toward movement, vitality, and heartfelt momentum.

In Chinese astrology, the Horse represents freedom, courage, and aliveness. It carries a strong connection to the heart and encourages us to move toward what feels authentic rather than what feels expected. This the year for renewed motivation, emotional honesty, and bravery - especially if we’ve been holding ourselves back or living on autopilot.

The Horse moves quickly and instinctively, guided by the heart rather than over-analysis. It brings renewed motivation and confidence, but it also asks us to stay present with ourselves as we move. When Horse energy is ungrounded, it can tip into restlessness or burnout. The invitation this year is to move forward with awareness, not urgency.

Working with Horse Energy

You might find it helpful this year to:

Choose physical movement that feels joyful and freeing, not punishing

Listen for what feels expansive, not draining, in your life

Honour your need for rest as much as your desire to move forward - stillness is not the opposite of movement, it is what allows movement to be impactful

Allow yourself to move at your own pace

We have finally got around to making our Christmas donation to Vale Wildlife Hospital & Rehabilitation charity!
They really are fantastic, rescuing and rehabilitating thousands of animals every year! 🥹 Unfortunately, with the increase in casualties they are receiving, they are no longer able to meet their financial demands. This is a very concerning time for the charity. Being the only wildlife charity in the area which takes all wild animals in 24/7, we need to support them. We will be getting our thinking caps on as to how we can raise funds later this year to support them. In the Chinese 5 Elements model, winter is associated with the Water element, symbolising reflection, stillness, and endings. This season invites us to turn inward, nurturing our mental, emotional, and physical selves.

Mentally: Winter encourages us to slow down and contemplate. This is a perfect time to assess our goals and align them with our true desires. Allow yourself the space to pause and think deeply about what you want to cultivate in this new year.

Emotionally: The Water element is linked to our emotions. It’s natural to feel a bit more introspective during winter, which can bring both clarity and heaviness. Embrace this emotional landscape by practicing self-compassion and being gentle with yourself. Recognise the value of your feelings, and allow them to guide you toward deeper understanding.

Physically: Winter is a time for rest and rejuvenation. Just as nature hibernates, so too should we honour our bodies with adequate rest and nourishment. This season is ideal for cozying up with warm meals, engaging in gentle exercise, and prioritising sleep.

As we navigate the winter months, consider incorporating Reiki and meditation into your self-care routine. Reiki can help to balance your energy, facilitating emotional release and mental clarity. This gentle, healing practice can provide comfort during a time that may feel heavy or isolating.
