A great result in a short appointment to allow the patient to implement changes in their oral hygiene routine to improve their oral health (and their self confidence). Stay tuned for the end result in a few months! This was achieved using the Acteon C50 to take before and after photos for education and motivation, along with the Acteon Air n Go and the Acteon Newtron P5XS!

We know fluoride in our water will improve oral health.
Water fluoridation countrywide would make a big difference in improving oral health for everyone.
🎉 Happy National Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist Day! 🎉.
It was lovely to find I was featured in the celebration video from .co.uk as today we’re celebrating National Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist Day, a day dedicated to the invaluable contributions of dental hygienists and dental therapists.
Supported by the British Association of Dental Therapists, the British Society of Dental Hygiene & Therapy and the Irish Dental Hygienist’s Association, this new national day – today, the 1 May – commemorates the day direct access came into force for dental hygienists and dental therapists in 2013.
To celebrate this new national day, Dentistry has been hosting an ongoing campaign – sponsored by NSK UK Dental Ltd – to highlight the achievements, challenges, and evolution of dental hygienists and dental therapists.

The complete dentures will be constructed free of charge and will provide an opportunity for the next generation of dentists to learn how to make complete dentures.
Following a screening appointment to assess suitability, accepted individuals will need to commit to SEVEN appointments at Birmingham Dental Hospital, usually two weeks apart.
The denture construction process can take three to four months.

Amy is originally from Alberta Canada (the really good bit by the Rocky Mountains!) and has lived in Europe since 2002. Having lived in Northern Ireland, various places in England and in Germany she now has a very ‘interesting’ accent that often changes throughout the day. Amy moved to the West Midlands to attend university and received her BSc in Dental Hygiene and Therapy from the University of Birmingham in 2009.
Amy is incredibly passionate about her profession and aims to give all of her patients the confidence to achieve and share their beautiful healthy smiles! As Amy works across several clinics in Warwickshire/West Midlands she can provide treatment to patients at various locations to best suit her patients.
Amy has 10 years experience in treating nervous and dental phobic patients. She is gentle and empathetic in her approach to looking after her patients and will always arrange treatment in a way you are most comfortable with. Her aim is to help patients build their confidence in attending dental appointments to ultimately achieve and maintain great oral health.
Amy has worked alongside Dental Specialists throughout her career, as well as having a stint being part of the clinical research team at the Birmingham Dental Hospital. Amy is therefore very experienced at treating advanced gum disease, including the treatment and maintenance of dental implants.
As a Dental Therapist Amy is able to carry out preventative treatments, treat gum disease, rebuild broken and decayed teeth, and carry out cosmetic restorations on teeth. Dental Therapists can also extract children's teeth. Some treatments, such as tooth whitening, will require a prescription from a dentist in order for the dental therapist to carry out the treatment however.
It is not a requirement to see a dentist before seeing Amy, however it is important to see a dentist regularly for a full oral health assessment. Amy is able to arrange for you to see one of the dentists she works alongside or she can liaise with your own dentist.
