A great result in a short appointment to allow the patient to implement changes in their oral hygiene routine to improve their oral health (and their self confidence). Stay tuned for the end result in a few months! This was achieved using the Acteon C50 to take before and after photos for education and motivation, along with the Acteon Air n Go and the Acteon Newtron P5XS!

🎉 Happy National Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist Day! 🎉.

It was lovely to find I was featured in the celebration video from .co.uk as today we’re celebrating National Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist Day, a day dedicated to the invaluable contributions of dental hygienists and dental therapists.

Supported by the British Association of Dental Therapists, the British Society of Dental Hygiene & Therapy and the Irish Dental Hygienist’s Association, this new national day – today, the 1 May – commemorates the day direct access came into force for dental hygienists and dental therapists in 2013.

To celebrate this new national day, Dentistry has been hosting an ongoing campaign – sponsored by NSK UK Dental Ltd – to highlight the achievements, challenges, and evolution of dental hygienists and dental therapists.

The Birmingham Dental Hospital & School of Dentistry are looking for patients that are edentulous (do not have any teeth) and would like a new set of complete dentures made by undergraduate dental students. The complete dentures will be constructed free of charge and will provide an opportunity for the next generation of dentists to learn how to make complete dentures.

Following a screening appointment to assess suitability, accepted individuals will need to commit to SEVEN appointments at Birmingham Dental Hospital, usually two weeks apart.

The denture construction process can take three to four months.

An exciting announcement today! I have officially joined the Acteon United Kingdom team!

My clinical hours have obviously greatly reduced as a result of this so if you are due to see me before Christmas(😜) it is best to contact me asap as my appointments this year are disappearing fast!

We are absolutely delighted to finally welcome Amy Hayes to the Acteon UK team.

Amy moved to Europe in 2000, originally from Canada and enjoys trips home.
She qualified with her BSc in Dental Hygiene and Therapy in 2009 at Birmingham Dental Hospital (UK). Her enthusiasm and skill in treating Periodontal disease has allowed her to work in several specialist departments, both in private practice and the Birmingham Dental Hospital, taking part in clinical research. She has been using Acteon products her entire career and as a vocal advocate for our products has made a natural transition into the team!
Amy brings with her, her clinical 'hands on' knowledge and experience, and is excited to support you with helping your customers in improving their working conditions and 'especially' your patients lives.

Another great revision session on dealing with Medical Emergencies and our annual CPR\AED training with the amazing Natalka from . Worksafe trainers really are the best - who would not want Paramedics and Firefighters training them to handle a medical emergency? Whilst I complete these training sessions at least 1x year I will never pass up on an extra opportunity to have training with as these sessions are always the best. But as always…. I would prefer to never have to use these skills! So everyone… do see your doctor about any of those medical niggles you have been ignoring! Then we can just focus on helping you achieve a healthy, beautiful smile that you are proud of!

A serious amount of Dental Toy Envy!!! Microscopes are so much fun - yes I am aware of how geeky that sounds but I don’t care! Thanks for the opportunity to try the scope and new loupes! The Professor Iain Chapple Retirement Symposium - Current Controversies in Perio has already been great so far with a fabulous lecture by .perio with the amazing teaching the delegates the true joy of Piezo technology!!!
