When designing a complex app like Smartily, it pays to go local.

I found a superb app developer called Appoly
https://www.appoly.co.uk based 1 mile from me in Leamington Spa.

Yes it could have been cheaper on paper if I’d gone further afield but with Appoly, I could nip into the office and talk face to face with a team that not only could understand what the brief was but could also understand what I was trying to achieve.

Quite often when you are creating apps and software the company you use expect you to know what’s possible and often expect you to design everything graphically. Many of us don’t have those skills and working with a team that does makes a huge difference.

It was great to support another local business in Leamington Spa and to keep a relationship going as the app continues to evolve.

I started this journey with Smartily almost 8 years ago. The idea was simple, a way to see what learning you’ve done, what you’ve got to or want to do and where to get it.
Over time it’s morphed into a way of Dental Workplaces being able to check the compliance status of its workforce.
Hopefully we can extend it out into other healthcare sectors and beyond!
