Louise Bates

Louise Bates My name is Louise Bates. I am a therapist, author, and podcaster with over 25 years of experience in the field of complementary therapy.

In April 2025 I retired my therapy practice to focus on my podcast, blog and delivering sound meditation classes. My name is Louise Bates, and I am a retired therapist with over 25 years of experience in the field of complementary therapy. Author, and Podcaster

Throughout my career, I have provided a variety of treatments to my clients, drawing on my qualifications as a Reiki Master, Reflexologist, Aromatherapist, Crystal Therapist, Indian Head Masseuse, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Master Practitioner. In addition to EFT, I have received training in Matrix Reimprinting, TimelineEFT, PositiveEFT, NLP for Practitioners, NLP Coach, EMDR, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Time Line Therapy™, Hypnotherapy, and Mindfulness teaching, accredited by The British Psychological Society. I am also an EFT Grief Specialist and I have completed additional training with Cruse Bereavement. These techniques have not only benefited my clients, but they have also been instrumental in helping me navigate my own grief journey following the death of my son, Matthew, in 2016. In April 2025, I made the decision to retire my therapy business and focus solely on my bereavement work. With a wealth of experience and a diverse skill set, I am dedicated to supporting others in their grief journey with my books, blog, and podcast. Additionally, I continue to host monthly mindfulness meditation sound baths to provide a space for healing and reflection. I enjoy swimbles in freezing cold water, paddleboarding like I’m auditioning for a adventure film, and talking to my crystals like they pay rent. When I’m not elbow-deep in soil pretending I’m at one with the earth, you’ll find me scribbling down my thoughts in a journal or just loving life at a live music gig. I thrive on fresh air, deep chats, and being around people who understand the importance of both grounding yourself and charging your amethyst. I also believe in angels - so you get the picture!

My most recent podcast, released 2 days ago is a tough listen.
It contains discussion of mental health struggles, trauma, and the death of a young person - and I'm not afraid to have these conversations. I'm so proud of my friend Marianne for sharing her story about Abi. I know how hard it can be to talk about this stuff. Please listen with care and seek support if you need it. 💜

A Gentle Note: My latest podcast episode below contains discussion of mental health struggles, trauma, and the death of a young person. Please listen with care and seek support if you need it.

Ep 48 - Grieving Twice: Marianne’s Story of Love, Loss, and Advocacy

In today’s episode, I’m joined by Marianne Griffiths, a mother who shares her experience of losing her adult daughter - first through years of separation and struggle, and later through her heartbreaking death in 2019 from SUDEP.

SUDEP stands for Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy. It refers to the sudden, unexplained death of someone with epilepsy who was otherwise healthy, where no other clear cause is found after investigation.

In this deeply moving and important conversation, Marianne shares the story of her daughter, Abi, a young woman who spent much of her life fighting to be understood, supported, and believed.

A Gentle Note: This episode contains discussion of mental health struggles, trauma, and the death of a young person. Please listen with care and seek support...

This may be a bit premature because we haven't sold our house yet - but moving house is one of the most stressful things we can do. When you’ve spent 28 years building a life in one place, leaving becomes even harder - especially after losing a loved one who shared that space with you. As I prepare to leave the home we’ve lived in for nearly three decades, I’ve been reflecting on how our places and possessions quietly hold the stories of our lives. In this solo episode, I share what it’s like to sort through decades of memories, how difficult it is to let go, and how we begin to decide what we carry with us into the next chapter. Take a listen. 💜

Our house is currently on the market, and we are preparing to move to a new area. As I’ve begun decluttering and clearing out cupboards, I’ve found myself becoming emotional. We’ve lived here for 28 years, and this home has supported us through both good and difficult times. It feels as though we’ve left our imprint on its bricks and mortar, and part of me doesn’t want to leave that behind.
But when the house is empty and the cupboards are bare, it will simply be walls and rooms once more. The essence and energy we’ve poured into this place will come with us. Our memories, our love, and our experiences don’t live in the house - they live within us. Here's flavour of my next episode coming out next Tuesday. 🙂

You know you’ve had a great night out when you wake up and keep replaying moments in your mind. That’s exactly how I felt this morning after Rob Halligan’s gig at Coventry Cathedral last night. I love his songs, and it was such a brilliant evening. He’s an incredible storyteller, and he shares his stories so beautifully through his music.
I was honoured to have him as a guest on my podcast a while ago. You can find his episode in the comments 👇 make sure you stay until the end, as you will hear one of his songs. 💜

Our Story

Hi, my name is Louise Bates and I am passionate about supporting others to feel and be well.

I combine a collection of new cutting edge techniques and processes that integrate the most effective elements of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Neuro Linguistic programming (NLP), spiritual understanding, science and the mind’s great ability to transform itself. I am also a qualified mindfulness teacher.

The techniques I use help you to move forward in your life in a more positive way enabling you to release anxiety, panic attacks, fears, phobias and much much more.

We can work together on a 1-2-1 basis in my treatment room or through Skype, Facetime or Zoom. This enables us to work together wherever you are in the world. If you would like to clear any of your issues, or if you would like to learn more about the incredible techniques I use, contact me today and arrange a FREE 30 minute consultation. I also offer a wide range of complementary therapies. These therapies promote relaxation which is perhaps the most important key to your health and well-being. When you are completely relaxed your own natural healing mechanism is more active. Contact me today!
