Dry Needling vs. Deep Tissue Massage: What’s the Difference?
While both aim to relieve muscle tension and pain, they work in different ways:
🔹 Dry Needling uses thin, sterile needles inserted directly into trigger points (tight “knots” in the muscle) to release tension, improve blood flow, and reset muscle function from the inside out. It targets deeper muscle layers with pinpoint accuracy, often reaching areas manual therapy can’t.
🔹 Deep Tissue Massage uses firm pressure and slow strokes to break up adhesions and reduce tension in the outer and middle layers of muscle and fascia. It’s hands-on and great for broad muscle recovery and relaxation.
In short:
✅ Dry Needling = precise internal release of trigger points
✅ Deep Tissue Massage = hands-on pressure to release tension and improve mobility
Both are highly effective — and can be even more powerful when used together, depending on your needs. Just ask to try dry needling at your next session and try it for yourself!
