❤️Did you know that 1 in 3 adults in the UK have high blood pressure (hypertension)? High blood pressure is often asymptomatic, meaning a person can have the condition but isn’t experiencing any symptoms. If high blood pressure is left untreated, it can cause heart disease, heart attack, stroke and kidney disease. That’s why high blood pressure is called a ‘silent killer’.
❤️If you haven’t had your blood pressure checked for a while, I would highly encourage you to have it checked. You can do so by using a blood pressure monitor at the comfort of your home, at a GP surgery or local pharmacy.
❤️There are several things you can do to prevent or manage high blood pressure, e.g. stay physically active, eat a balanced diet that is low in salt, maintain a healthy weight, manage stress, watch your alcohol and caffeine intake, get enough sleep, quit smoking.
🙏Please share with your friends and family. Their heart will thank you.
