The Shepherds team were delighted to have the opportunity to install three brand new overhead hoists within a local school for their physio, changing and shower rooms.

Having serviced and repaired their mobility equipment for several years it was good to see new equipment being installed to benefit the pupils and staff when the school fully reopens.

Whilst a lot of the installation and servicing work undertaken by our engineers goes on within hospitals and care homes, it is always fun when they can branch out into new areas such as schools, cathedrals, swimming pools and private residencies.

JOB VACANCY

We have a vacancy for a labourer for a one-year contract based in Birmingham installing overhead hoist systems with a view to extending the period of employment subject to volume of work.

The successful applicant will need to be comfortable with early morning starts, flexible finish times and working/staying away from home during the week. Work independently and take responsibility for their daily activities ensuring they have the correct tools and paperwork and be able to take instruction from and work closely with their supervisor. It is essential the candidate has a full driving licence and preferable to have a valid CSCS card.

Accommodation, food allowance, tools and uniform will be provided for the duration of the contract.

Our Shepherds engineers are proud to be working on the installation of essential equipment at a new hospital complex being built in Birmingham. Our focus on this job is fitting 350 new overhead hoists as part a long-term contract. Good job they have a head for heights! 😱

Recent hoist installation by our brilliant engineers Tom and Jamie – a much needed upgrade to help a young man’s carers move him around the house and making it easier for him to get to the pool for a swim - his favourite activity of the day.

Having serviced all the hoists for one of our customers over the last year, we were aware that the old overhead hoist system was problematic as it had suffered water damage. Most noticeably, the charging process on one hoist was being interrupted due to the water corrosion.

We put forward a proposal to supply and fit a new system with design features to alleviate the current issues by using a new-style wall mounted charging system and keeping it away from exposure to moisture.

A message to our clients and others who may need us in these challenging times.

Shepherd Hospital Equipment are still operational and are dedicated to making sure our services are available in the places they are most needed.

We are still carrying out essential service and repairs within hospitals to make sure their beds are fully functional in their fight against COVID-19. During this time, we are adhering to government guidelines and following hospital procedures to ensure the safety of medical staff, patients, and our own engineers.

If you have beds that are out of action due to faults, or require servicing moved forward to ensure the they are fully operational in this critical time, please do not hesitate to call or email to book an engineer to attend.
