Feeling overwhelmed does not always look dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like replying to messages feels impossible.

Sometimes it looks like cancelling plans because you cannot face one more conversation.

Sometimes it looks like feeling numb, flat, irritated, tearful, or completely disconnected from yourself.

And when you have spent years masking, it can be even harder to notice.

Because you might be so used to pushing through that you do not realise how much it is costing you.

Overwhelm is not weakness.

It is often your mind and body saying, “I cannot keep carrying this in the same way.”

Burnout does not always look dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like replying to messages feels impossible.

Sometimes it looks like cancelling plans because you cannot face one more conversation.

Expecting a little discomfort can be one of the hardest parts of setting boundaries.

Especially if you are used to saying yes, keeping the peace, masking, or explaining yourself so nobody feels upset.

Sometimes a boundary can feel wrong, even when it is needed.

But that discomfort does not always mean you are doing something bad.

It might just mean you are doing something different.

Small boundaries can still be kind boundaries.

And they can make a big difference.

Ever wonder why you can start something with so much passion…
but can’t seem to finish it?

Go all in → hit a wall → stop → repeat.

And then the thoughts come:
“Why am I like this?”
“I never follow anything through.”

You’re not lazy.
You’re overwhelmed, and your brain is trying to keep up with a lot.

Hyperfocus, overthinking, burnout… it’s exhausting.

You are not broken.

You might be overwhelmed.

You might be burnt out.

You might have spent years masking, coping, pushing through, saying yes, holding everything together, and trying to look okay from the outside.

And then when your mind and body finally say, “I can’t keep doing this,” it can feel like failure.

But it is not failure.

Sometimes overwhelm is a sign you have been carrying too much, for too long, without enough support.

You are not too much.

You are not broken.

You are human.

I’ve been working on something quietly over the past few weeks.

A small online group for neurodivergent adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like their brain is just holding too much.

Not a course in the traditional sense.
Not about fixing anything.

Just a space to slow things down, make sense of what’s been building, and begin to move forward in a way that actually fits.
