32 APPOINTMENTS THIS MONTH SO FAR! EITHER CANCELLED WITHIN 24 HOURS OR A NO SHOW.... AND REFUSING TO PAY! WE ARE NOT EVEN WORKING OUT OUR LOST REVENUE, AS IT IS TOO UPSETTING. PLEASE, PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF THIS 🙏
We do love our industry and we would love to be able to continue to do what we love ❤️ please help us to make sure that's the case.
A message to anyone who books appontments in advance in any type of industry!
Cancelation policies in the hair and beauty sector and beyond are designed to protect the livelihoods of the businesses who operate on an appointment-only basis.
Most salons require at least 24 to 48 hours' notice for any changes, often backed by a non-refundable deposit or a late-cancelation fee ranging from 50% to 100% of the service cost. This is because a last-minute cancelation creates a "dead" slot that is nearly impossible to refill at short notice, meaning the professional loses the income they were counting on to cover fixed costs like wages, rent, insurance, products etc.
A harsh reality: many independent businesses are folding not because they lack talent or customers, but because they simply cannot survive the financial "death by a thousand cuts" caused by last-minute cancelations. In the current economic climate, the margin for error has vanished.
Please be mindful of this when booking an appointment. Make sure you can make that day and time and give the business plenty of notice when you need to rearrange.
By respecting these policies, you aren't just following a rule—you are helping to ensure your favourite salon, restaurant, fitness studio etc. can stay in business.
