Are you over 40?

It’s recommended that you should get your blood pressure tested at least every five years if you don’t have other medical conditions.

You can do this yourself if you have a monitor at home, or as part of an NHS health check, at some workplaces, at a pharmacy or GP practice.

Practices in our PCN (Colton Mill and The Grange, Ashfield and the Grange Medical Centre, Family Doctors and Manston) all have Health Kiosks in their reception areas which allow you to check your blood pressure, height and weight.

A big thank you to all our PCN and Practice teams for their significant contribution delivering a successful Covid and Flu Vaccination Programme this winter. The amount of organising that goes into 12 weeks of clinics as well as visiting all our housebound and care home patients requires a tremendous amount of effort.

It’s the second of our weekend health fairs at The Grange Medical Centre. We have Forward Leeds and East Leeds Slimming World Groups supporting us today and our team are offering pre bookable NHS health checks and a drop in smear clinic.

This campaign addresses the mounting pressure on general practice to clear the backlog and the restrictions on access as a result of the pandemic.

About the Campaign:
GPs and their teams have faced an extremely challenging time during the COVID-19 pandemic. The restrictions have meant that face-to-face contact with patients has been limited in order to keep practice staff and patients safe.

The Support your surgery campaign provides GP practices with the tools to both manage expectations and to provide patients with the reality of issues facing general practice.

Cervical Screening Barriers-Focus Group

The Leeds Cancer Awareness team are working with Cancer Wise Leeds to find out reasons why women and people with a cervix may choose not to attend their cervical screening (Smear Test).

The focus group will be an hour long and participants will receive a £15 gift voucher as a thank you for taking part.

Eligibility:
• Participants must be female or people with a cervix.
• Aged 24-29
• Living in LS14, LS15, LS8 or LS9.

The participants can either have attended or not attended cervical screening (smear test).
