Face and neck lift procedures in the UK increased by 8% in 2024, according to new audit data from

BAAPS President attributes this to a combination of injectable fatigue, facial volume loss following GLP-1 weight-loss medications, and increased awareness of facial ageing through video conferencing.

The release highlights:
• A younger demographic seeking subtle surgical rejuvenation
• Increased use of deep-plane and short-scar techniques
• Advances in regenerative facial surgery
• The growing role of local-anaesthetic (“wide-awake”) facelift procedures, presented by UK surgeon

Insights from and at the 2025 BAAPS conference underline how facial rejuvenation continues to evolve toward preservation, regeneration, and longevity.

Always tired… even when you’re not?

Lower blepharoplasty isn’t about changing how you look, it’s about restoring what fatigue has quietly taken away. By refining the lower eyelid contour, this procedure can relieve the heavy, weighed-down appearance, soften shadowing often labelled as “dark circles,” and bring back a rested, natural look.

A subtle adjustment, but one that can make the eyes feel lighter, brighter, and more in balance, particularly for women and men juggling busy lives (yes, parents especially).

Small changes. Meaningful impact.

Deep plane short scar facelift and laser resurfacing

This was a technically demanding case involving significant lower-face ageing, skin laxity and deep marionette lines, with asymmetry through the nasal folds and jawline.

By combining laser resurfacing with our Coppergate team first, followed by a deep-plane short-scar facelift, we were able to enhance facial harmony without creating an artificial or over-pulled look.

The goal was never transformation, but balance, softness and proportion.
A subtle refresh that still feels authentic to the patient.

She’s delighted with her result and happy to share it.

A reminder that great facelift outcomes don’t stop in theatre
✔️ Skin quality
✔️ Bespoke skincare
✔️ Thoughtful non-surgical support
are essential to achieving the best possible surgical result.

End of year reflections (apparently).

2025 has been a year of showing up online in many forms, education, myth-busting, patient stories, outcomes, the occasional opinion…and the odd post that probably made sense only in my head at the time.

Across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn, different audiences, different tones, but the same aim throughout: be useful, be honest, don’t overcomplicate things, and never underestimate how much misinformation exists on the internet.

Not every post is about surgery.
Some are about judgement calls.
Some are about patience.
Some are about explaining the same thing… again…slightly louder.

Tomorrow is my annual review, so today felt like a good moment to acknowledge that building a professional digital presence is now very much part of the job, whether we like it or not.

Thanks to everyone who’s followed, commented, shared, disagreed politely, or just watched from the sidelines.

More to come.

Patient words like these are never taken lightly.

After years of living with the physical changes following pregnancy, this patient chose to undergo an abdominoplasty to address excess skin and muscle separation, a decision she had carefully considered for many years.

Hearing how supported, informed, and reassured she felt throughout her journey matters just as much as the surgical outcome itself. Surgery is never just about the result; it’s about trust, communication, and feeling truly listened to at every stage.

Thank you for sharing something so personal and allowing your experience to be reflected here.

Why multiple angles matter

These images show the same deep-plane facelift outcome from three viewpoints, because facial surgery should hold up beyond a single photograph.

This patient, aged 54, chose a facelift revision to address jowling and loss of neck definition. A deep-plane technique was used to reposition the underlying facial layers rather than relying on surface tightening alone.

At approximately six months post-surgery, the neck contour is smoother, the jawline more clearly defined, and the overall result remains balanced and natural. The incision sits discreetly within the hairline and continues to soften as healing progresses.

Revisiting this case allows for a more honest discussion of structure, longevity and proportion, not trends.
