As the light begins to strengthen and we transition into the brighter, more vibrant months of the year, join us for a nourishing Women’s Circle honouring the energy of the Spring Equinox. Together, we’ll take time to gently awaken from the winter months, explore what this seasonal shift of renewal means for us, and share ways we can nurture our growth - physically, mentally, and emotionally - through the coming season.
This uplifting, clarifying session will include:
-Guided meditation.
-Journaling prompts for reflection and planting new intentions.
-Oracle card guidance for the path ahead.
-Gentle, mindful yoga.
-Seasonal tea and a sweet treat to close.

FAMILY YOGA WORKSHOP🫶🦋🌙🦁🐾🐱
We had the most wholesome afternoon at our family yoga workshop with Freya!
We warmed our bodies, shared happy thoughts, practiced calming and energising breathing techniques, partner yoga and yoga games, before meditation and a mini sound bath holding hands 🫶

Postnatal yoga, pilates & social🫶☁️👶🦋✨
Bring your beautiful babies to this nurturing class for mamas and babies from 6 weeks to pre crawling. The perfect way to practice yoga & pilates, take some much needed time to look after yourself, having fun with your baby and meeting other new mums. This is a 45 minute class aimed at gently building strength and mobility back in the body after birth, whilst incorporating baby! The class will end with 15 minutes to have a little cup of herbal tea & biscuits so you can socialise with the other mamas. 💛💛💛

Step into our calm, softly lit studio and allow yourself to fully unwind in our brand new candlelit healing yoga class.
Designed to soothe the nervous system and restore balance, this session blends gentle, mindful movement with deeply nourishing restorative poses to help release tension from body and mind.
Beginning with slow, flowing stretches to ease stiffness and encourage breath awareness, before settling into supported restorative postures that invite stillness and relaxation. The practice will close with a guided Yoga Nidra - a deeply restful meditation often described as “yogic sleep” - leaving you feeling grounded, replenished, and renewed.
Suitable for all levels and ideal for those experiencing stress, pain, or health conditions, this class offers a peaceful sanctuary to rest, reset, and reconnect with yourself.

This workshop is a wonderful way to practice yoga with your family! Yoga has many benefits for all ages, and practising as a family helps to encourage children and adults to enjoy mindful movement and exercise together. This workshop is carefully created to ensure children learn yoga in a fun, engaging environment and will include breathing techniques, yoga poses, sun salutations, yoga games, partner yoga and meditation. AWAKEN: SPRING RETREAT🌷
Super excited to introduce our Spring Retreat in Ullswater, The Lake District from Monday 20th-Thursday 23rd April 2026 with our teachers Freya Shaw and Lydia Brown.
Awaken is a celebration of Spring's return, a gentle invitation to reawaken your practice, revive your energy, and reconnect with the natural world as it comes back to life. Each day offers two nourishing yoga practices, alongside optional hikes through the fells, invigorating cold-water dips, or simply the space to rest and unwind in the peaceful surroundings, with all seasonal, fresh and absolutely delicious vegetarian meals provided. This retreat is an opportunity to slow down, breathe deeply, and step into the new season feeling refreshed and renewed.
We have been blown away by the interest so far and now have just 2 spaces available in a shared room ~ perfect for you and a friend or if you are happy to share a room, perfect to come along and meet lovely likeminded people☺️

The Yoga House is a cosy yoga studio in the heart of East Leeds, our aim is to build a down to earth, supportive yoga community, where everyone feels at home. We offer a variety of classes, courses and workshops for all levels to help you move, breathe and relax. Spend some time unwinding in our cosy space, sipping tea, meeting other likeminded yogis and getting away from the hustle and bustle of life.
About the Owner...
Coming from a gymnastics and dance background, Freya found Vinyasa Flow yoga in her early 20’s and fell in love with the practice. Not only did this style of yoga allow her to keep up her physical strength and flexibility, but the synchronicity of movement to breath and the meditation aspect also helped her personally. After gaining a degree in Event and Business management at University, Freya worked at St Gemma’s Hospice for two years as an Events Fundraiser. During this time she realised office work wasn’t for her and decided to take a year out to go travelling and do her yoga teacher training. She is now qualified in Vinyasa Flow, Restorative and Children’s yoga and teaches a range of classes for all ages and abilities. Freya also teaches yoga to people living with cancer at the Maggies cancer centre in Leeds and is passionate about bringing the benefits of yoga to those who need it most.
The Yoga House story...
From living with a close family member with a chronic pain condition and witnessing first hand how much yoga, tai chi, breath work and meditation helped to reduce this pain, Freya realised just how beneficial and healing these holistic practices were. During this time Freya found her passion for yoga and realised she wanted to open a yoga studio to help others feel the benefits she and her family had felt from the practice, and so The Yoga House was born! It was important to Freya that the studio was in East Leeds as yoga was predominantly available in North Leeds, and she has made it her mission to create a yoga community in Crossgates!
