📚 World Book Day – Pyjama Party at Stay & Play! 🧸

Calling all our Stay & Play families!

This Thursday (5th March) is World Book Day, and we’ve decided to do things a little differently for our session at Leeds Mencap (12:30pm – 2:00pm).

Lissi has managed to persuade me to ditch the usual clothes and spend the afternoon in my pyjamas! So, if you and the little ones would like to join us in your favourite PJs, dressing gowns, or onesies, we would love to see them.

It is completely voluntary, of course—feel free to come as you are, or even as a favourite book character if you already have an outfit prepped. We’re just looking forward to a extra-cosy afternoon of play and stories.

When: Thursday, 5th March
Time: 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Where: Leeds Mencap

Can’t wait to see you all there (and hopefully I won’t be the only one in my slippers!)

🌍📚 Tomorrow is World Book Day! 📚🌍

World book day celebrates the magic of stories and the power reading has to spark imagination, build confidence, and support healthy development from early years right through to teens.

Sharing books together – helps children and young people develop language, boost emotional wellbeing, and strengthen bonds with the people around them.

👶 For our little ones: Talking, singing, pointing at pictures and sharing simple stories all support early speech, communication and brain development.

🧒 For children: Reading encourages creativity, vocabulary growth and positive mental health.

👧🧑 For young people: Books offer a way to explore identity, understand emotions and connect with the wider world.

Today is a perfect reminder that every book counts – whether it’s read aloud, listened to, or enjoyed independently.

✨ What are you or your family reading today?
We’d love to hear your favourite stories!
