Why do we charge more than a foot health practitioner?

We are HCPC registered which is mandatory for us to work as podiatrists and is the equivalent of other governance bodies like the general medical council etc . This means that we have accountability and can be struck off if we don’t meet minimum standards for your safety and protection.

We train at university for three years as an undergraduate with over 2000 hours of clinical practice. We gain a BSc in podiatry / podiatric medicine.

We can work within the NHS and private sector . We can go on to do further post graduate qualifications in surgery , MSK , paediatric, wound care , and diabetic limb loss prevention. We can go on to be consultants in podiatric surgery . We are recognised and respected by other health care professionals.

We are audited and have compulsory CPD ( continuous professional development) , we can train to teach in university and further education recognised and governed. We can go in to research and go on to do PHDs.

We can prescribe certain drugs and anaesthesia and perform foot surgeries like nail surgery and needling , some biopsies and we have the knowledge and skills to refer to appropriate specialist services and wound care where appropriate.

We are recognised by BUPA , Axa and other health care insurance companies and can issue receipts for services we provide .
With over 35 years experience in both the NHS and private sector , many post graduate qualifications and vast experience. You are paying for highly qualified and experienced knowledge and skills in podiatry not basic footcare .

We provide evidence based medicine,

If your foot care provider can’t call themselves a podiatrist … they aren’t as it’s a protected title in law .
