Ghyll Royd Music Festival Summer Fete: A Resounding Success! 🎶☀️

What an absolutely fantastic day we had at the Ghyll Royd Music Festival Summer Fete! A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a memorable event. The turnout was incredible, and the atmosphere was buzzing with fun and laughter.

We're thrilled to announce that we raised a fantastic amount for The Yorkshire Air Ambulance! This wouldn't have been possible without the amazing tombola and raffle prizes so kindly donated by businesses and individuals across our wonderful community. Your generosity is truly appreciated, and we're currently in the process of counting the final total – we can't wait to share it with you all!

Fun and Games at Ghyll Royd! 🎉

What a fantastic few days we've had here at Ghyll Royd Care Home, packed with laughter, friendly competition, and a bit of brain-teasing fun!

Saturday was a blast from start to finish! In the afternoon, we enjoyed several rounds of bingo, followed by a resident favorite, dominoes! After tea, we wound down with a glass of wine and got our brains ticking with some lively word games on the whiteboard. 🍷

Tuesday morning kicked off with an energetic Zumba workout! Our Blossom unit residents showed off their moves and had a fantastic time dancing!

In the afternoon, we welcomed a new resident who was eager to help out in the garden. We collected some beautiful garden flowers, did some deadheading, and tied up a few plants. Other residents then created lovely floral displays, leading to some wonderful conversation and reminiscing time. 💐🌸

What a fantastic moment for Ghyll Royd Care Home! We are incredibly proud to announce that we've successfully completed our 1-year review and retained our prestigious accreditation as a Veteran Friendly Framework care home! This truly highlights our unwavering dedication to providing exceptional care and a supportive environment for every veteran who calls Ghyll Royd home.

Over the past year, our team has gone above and beyond, consistently striving to enhance the specialised support and services we offer. It's incredibly rewarding to have our commitment recognised by the Veteran Friendly Framework. Fran, from the VFF team, sent us the most wonderful feedback, praising our "exceptionally high standard" application and commending our "dedication, passion, and commitment" to the program. Her words truly mean a lot to us.

A heartfelt thank you to every member of the Ghyll Royd team for their tireless work and dedication, and to Fran for her kind words and ongoing encouragement! We are honoured to prominently display our new Veteran Friendly Framework Continued Certificate and look forward to continuing our mission of providing outstanding care for those who have served.

Fun-Filled Days at Ghyll Royd Care Home! 🏡☀️

What a week it's been at Ghyll Royd! We've been enjoying a fantastic mix of outings, entertainment, and celebrations.

Last Friday, we had a delightful trip to Swincar Nurseries in Guiseley for the grand opening of their beautiful cafe! We indulged in lovely coffee, cakes, and ice cream, and then enjoyed a leisurely stroll, admiring all the stunning plants and flowers. 🌷🍰🍦

Friday morning also saw some competitive fun with a game of "Play Your Cards Right," followed by lively discussions and a wonderful birthday celebration! In the afternoon, we got into the Wimbledon spirit, enjoying strawberries and cream served around the garden and units – a perfect way to spend a summer's day! 🍓🎾

On Tuesday morning, we had the immense pleasure of hosting the children from Bright Skies Nursery who performed their graduation concert for us. It was absolutely lovely! We'll miss them all and are already looking forward to welcoming our new nursery children in October. After the concert, we got our muscles moving with an armchair exercise session, focusing on stretches and gentle movements.

Tuesday afternoon brought some fantastic musical entertainment from Tom Alone, who did a brilliant job playing his accordion! We even had one of our very own carers try their hand at it – what a talented team we have! 🎶

Yesterday, our dedicated team achieved something truly special for Martin House Children's Hospice. We cycled an incredible 100k km, and together raised £154.52! This effort was particularly meaningful as it was in memory of our Kitchen Assistant Amy's cousin. Every pound and every kilometre will make a difference - thank you to everyone who took part and donated.
