Register for our Nursing Recruitment Open Day on 9 March and find out how you could develop a career in children's nursing at Leeds Children's Hospital.

In advance of our Open Day for new nurses we're spotlighting some of our brilliant nursing colleagues.

Nurse Associate Owen works on Ward L42 where he has been for 5 years as a trainee and now a Registered Nurse Associate (RNA). Owen trained as an Apprentice Health Care Assistant before starting his training as a RNA. Owen is currently undertaking a Transfer to Nursing (TTN) at the end of which he will be a Registered Children’s Nurse.

We asked Owen about his route into children’s nursing:

‘An apprenticeship-based route into nursing is great for those unable to go straight to university from college. You can work flexibly around your home life whilst training and earning’

Meet Harper, she's amazing, she's inspirational and she comes to stay with us regularly.
Harper wanted to fundraiser and did this is so many ways. Harper bought us some much needed sensory equipment.
An amazing rotary projector and some beautiful fibre optics lights !
We can't thank you enough for your hard work fundraising for all the children and young people who visit our ward !
