In light of the latest attacks on trans right and the attempt to challenge trans people's basic right to exist as themselves I wanted to take a moment to specify my support and solidarity for all trans people. The current rhetoric is appalling and scary and my thoughts and love go out to everyone facing the consequences of this and all other assaults against trans people. I also want to acknowledge that I would not have the rights I have today as a q***r woman if not for the activism of trans people in the LGBTIA+ movement. For me, there is no and I will continue to be an active and outspoken trans ally in return. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

S*x work is work, but it is also heavily stigmatized and still criminalised in some forms. If you're a s*x worker and you're seeking counselling you may feel wary of mental health services due to this. If you've decided to seek counselling privately it can be hard to judge someone's politics or ethics from a professional bio and it may feel like making yourself too vulnerable to straight up ask what their views are on s*x work. I wanted to take this moment to say that my service is open to all s*x workers. I have awareness of the nuances of s*x work and am a strong supporter of s*x workers rights. I can also assure you, you won't shock me. I know all forms of s*x work can be hard work and often isolating as you may not be able to be fully honest with everyone you know. You might need a place to talk about the stresses of your job, without feeling like the person listening is going to try to "rescue you". You may want to talk about issues completely unrelated to work, but safe in the knowledge that if your job does come up there will be no judgement, or attempt to blame issues incorrectly on your work. You may even just be a fellow s*x worker ally who feels a counsellor who shares your values is a good match for you. Regardless of where you fall I would love to hear from you. I have some availability in person in Leeds and Saltaire, as well as offering remote sessions via Microsoft teams. I have flexible rates between £30 and £40 per session and currently have one place available for my lowest rate of £20 per session. You can contact me by text or email at the details in my bio or simply drop me a DM and I can talk to you about the next steps.

Jac :)

Fees - I thought it might be helpful to make a post specifically about fees. I know I feel anxious sometimes if I have to ask someone how much something is. I grew up with the belief that if there's no price tag we definitely can't afford it! I have a few different rates depending on you and your circumstances. My standard rate which is always available to everyone is currently £40. This is for a 50 minute session, as all my rates are. This covers in person or remote sessions. I have a lower rate of £30 for anyone on a low income, for example someone receiving benefits, in precarious work or a student. This rate is also open to you if you are trans, or a trans or q***r person of colour. Regardless of your employment status. I then have my lowest fee which is £20. I only have a small capacity for this rate so I cannot guarantee it will always be available. I do currently have availability for this rate so please ask me about this if it would make counselling more accessible for you. I want to be as flexible as possible and so this structuring may change over time if I find a better way but as it stands this is how I'm working things to try to strike the right balance. ***rcounsellor

Hello, I'm Jac. I'm a q***r counsellor working in Leeds and Bradford. I trained as a person centered counsellor at Leeds City College and have worked as a student counsellor at Bradford Bereavement Services, Place 2 Be and Phoenix Health and Wellbeing. I'm now able to offer sessions directly with myself. I have worked with a wide range of client’s but I would especially invite client’s who may have experienced feelings of "otherness" to reach out. I have worked with clients who are LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, disabled and from a range of cultures and backgrounds. I offer a safe and supportive environment to work through anything that is causing you distress. Holding space to acknowledge systematic and structural factors outside of your control while working to help you build your resources and tool kit. I offer a sliding scale fee based on your circumstances. I am kink, polyamory, s*x work, neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ informed, affirming and inclusive.
