Delivering International Event Safety – Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
John King Safety Ltd recently provided event safety consultancy services for Balad Beast in Jeddah and the Asian Racing Conference, supporting the safe delivery of two high-profile international events in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Our role involved developing and compiling the full suite of event safety documentation required to meet local government and regulatory authority expectations. This included comprehensive risk assessments, method statements, fire and emergency planning, contractor assurance processes and overarching safety management frameworks aligned with regional compliance requirements.
Operating internationally requires more than simply exporting UK standards. It demands an understanding of local governance structures, regulatory expectations and cultural working environments. JKSL worked closely with stakeholders to ensure documentation was robust, proportionate and defensible within the Saudi regulatory framework.
On the ground, Scott Leven Tech IOSH (+ Safety Cat) led the operational safety delivery as Safety Manager, supported by his team. Their presence ensured that planning translated into effective implementation across build, live and de-rig phases.
From strategic planning to boots-on-the-ground ex*****on, this project demonstrated the strength of our collaborative safety leadership model — combining governance-level oversight with practical operational control.
And, of course, no JKSL deployment would be complete without our adopted Safety Cat keeping a watchful eye on proceedings.
As our international portfolio continues to grow, we remain focused on delivering practical, commercially aware safety solutions that enable ambitious events to happen safely — wherever they take place.
If you are delivering large-scale or international events and require experienced safety leadership, we would be pleased to support.
