Course coming up on working with eating and identity - with Debbie Thomson. 3 Saturdays online in April, May and June. See the link below for full details.

Eating distress is never just about food and this course from Debbie Thomson explores the links between eating, self-worth, shame, and identity — and how cultural messages about control, appearance, and safety shape our relationship with food and our bodies.

We’ll cover:
• key statistics and medical risks
• NICE guidelines and safeguarding thresholds
• practical therapeutic tools through a relational lens
• TA models to understand how symptoms show up in daily life

You’ll leave with greater confidence to support clients with compassion, clarity, and cultural awareness.

With a clear philosophical grounding, technique becomes more integrated and responsive — a way of expressing something more fundamental about how we work with people.

New research from scientists at 3 universities is changing the story around ADHD and wellbeing. The study from University of Bath, King's College London, and Radboud University Medical Center in the Netherlands found that adults with ADHD who recognise and identify with qualities like creativity, humour, hyperfocus and spontaneity tend to report higher wellbeing and fewer symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress.

What stood out was that individuals who had greater awareness of their strengths—and used them more often—tended to feel better in themselves. Not just those with ADHD, but across the board.

That said, it’s important to recognise that these findings don’t take away from the very real difficulties neurodiverse people can face, or the need for appropriate support. But it’s useful research—for practitioners, and for anyone reflecting on how we understand ourselves.

Does that ring true for you? Do certain strengths make things feel a bit more manageable—or even enjoyable?

Just a few hours until this months' Cup of TEA: The Many Faces of Life Script.

Its one of the foundational concepts in Transactional Analysis and we will be
exploring the many ways scripts can show up — narratively, embodied, relationally, and socioculturally — and how these expressions shape identity and the therapeutic process.

Come and join in the discussion about how script theory can remain alive, relevant, and responsive to the complexity of human experience and our work in the therapy room.

Wednesday 17 December 2025. 6 - 8pm online. Tickets ÂŁ12

The holiday season often brings relational stress into sharp focus, reactivating longings for the “fantasy family” — one that feels safe, attuned, and fully accepting. If you struggle with family dynamics or have clients who you know will find the season difficult - Nea Clark offers a deeper understanding of neurodivergent family dynamics, and concrete tools to support themselves and their clients during emotionally charged family seasons.
