We're excited to share insights from a recent study that compared classical and sports massage using shear-wave elastography.

Both styles were found to reduce muscle stiffness in the erector spinae and upper trapezius muscles. However, sports massage, which employs deeper pressure, showed a more significant effect.

For therapists, this research highlights the importance of choosing the right massage technique based on client needs. Deeper pressure might be better for those with severe muscle tension, while classical massage can still offer great relief for milder issues.

Short-Term Massage: Boosting Muscle Recovery

A recent study looked into how different massage techniques impact the contractile properties of the re**us femoris muscle after it's been fatigued.

✨ Both manual and vibro-mechanical massages showed impressive results, helping muscles recover and bringing contractile properties back to normal levels.

❌ On the other hand, percussive tools and passive rest didn’t provide much benefit.

For therapists, this emphasises the importance of hands-on techniques and vibro-mechanical methods for aiding recovery, especially for clients engaged in high-intensity activities.
