On Monday 9 March, MPs will debate the need for routine testing for type 1 diabetes when babies and young children present with any of the 4Ts 📢
Every child showing the 4Ts – toilet, thirsty, tired, thinner – should be tested, in line with NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidelines. The Lyla's Law campaign has shone a light on the fact that too many are only diagnosed when they are already critically ill with DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis).
This debate is a vital chance to change that.
And opportunities like this don't come often.
